Imp, This One's For You

How to Fly Without ID. This is an article by someone asserting his “right to travel,” and detailing the facts of the matter of flying. Apparently, airlines are not legally allowed to refuse a passenger the right to board because they don’t have ID. I’m contemplating trying it out myself. I like the idea, not from distrust of the governement or fear of losing freedoms, but because I like asserting rights I have for the sake of causing trouble.

that’s cool… have yourself noticed and the secret police guy on the plane will watch you while ignoring an actual terrorist…

I think it’s passenger. Besides, what’s the difference if their not showing their ID?
There’s an interesting discussion of what liberties it is worth it to relinquish in the name of safety. For instance, I noticed you were opposed to smoking bans. Is freedom to smoke is more important than freedom from unnecessary searches? Is annonymity a freedom worth being sacrificed for safety? If it is, why not RFID tag newborns, and scan people in public spaces? It would sure cut down on terrorism.

Right, I do oppose many restrictions regarding personal freedoms, however, this regards a potential threat to more than one person. We need to show ID, for many transactions, even when using a debit or credit card the clerk asks for ID.

Why should I be banned from smoking in my home or backyard? Why are automotive dealers now disallowed selling new, brown cars in California. Some restrictions are just a power grab over others. The ID is a safety precaution protecting the customer and the business.
