I just made my rounds for South Asian and South-East Asian News, and several Indian news sites have gone banal, over the top suddenly on their Yoga Day coverage, almost as if it was banned and today is the first day people have been able to do it. Defiant politicians talking about the benefits of yoga and delivering it the poor, and how its a part of Indian national character.
Well damn… like everyone in the fucking world inside and outside of India didn’t already know this. You can’t go into a slum and city around the planet, sticking your finger up in the air and defiantly declaring this, and getting much more than a shrug from a few people before they continue on doing what they all were doing before.
This is the lamest show of Fascist Nationalism ever. Yes, it is… has all the hallmarks of it, just its at the far extreme left of the spectrum… the lamest end of it.
Yoga is hardly about to die out. There isn’t a international persecution of it, outside of Saudi Arabia. Doubt ISIS even cares much about it as a priority.
I can’t imagine something note anthetical to mass patriotic mobilizations than Yoga… yet India has tried it, and its come off as a annoying, disturbing expression of stupidity. I wonder if everyone was focusing deeply on the Indian Flag while this was going on? Did the Indian Commandos in Myanmar stop crawling around for a bit to cross their feet, focus on their breathing and stare at the end of their noses before continuing on crawling into the jungle?
Should Christianity weaponize The Jesus Prayer in response? How about the Tibetian Monks develop a very threatening form of hymnal humming to declare their territorial stake over the Himalayas to counter Indian Yogic Aggression. We can get some Daoists to kill some chickens and choreograph their war dance last used during the Shang Dynasty.

If you wanna do yoga, fine. Don’t politicize it, and don’t be all militant and patriotic about it… No one should get this crazy about something like this. By far, one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen a country get hyped up about. Its up there with Hitlers homosexual obsession with Aesthetics during wartime.
