Influential Perception

I was thinking today about our vast universe. We can go anywhere we want on earth, almost anything can be examined on earth. But when we talk about space, this is something we still know very little about. But I think this idea has a different purpose.

I think it’s to say many times beliefs are based on perceptions of things. Such as one day I may feel like an atheist because the Idea of a Big man with a white beard like something off of fantasia, does not stand up against a vast universe that we can see at least some of. Those are perceptions. I feel even the atheist I know look at the universe, Being as the biggest, greatest, thing they have ever seen, to an atheist the Universe is God, and it can be seen, and it is still left undiscovered. So faith in the universe can really seem to outway a man with a white beard. But the thought of this man with a white beard is way oversimplified.

I believe something put the universe there, and I believe something with a great mind did it, this isn’t a silly idea. Atheist and naturalists must be stuck with the idea that the universe was random, created itself, which is also not a silly idea. But when you percieve the two greats together, one will seem most likely pathetic. And in an age where Science is a God in our world, to a naturalist, a Universe is too Great compared to Alah, or God, or any other form, for this is what people believe, small people trapped inside of something undiscovered.

But the two different perceptions I believe are very influential to beliefs, but this is just an idea. I believe this also can pertain to many other subjects. I shouldn’t picture a lame universe just as anyone else shouldn’t picture a lame super being. Both make sense, but both are perceptions.

Him

I must be an atheist then …

Shalom

I think you miss my point. Human imaginative constructs are not as believable, especially when boxed in to something that resembles childhood or us. I do believe man was made after God’s image, but I don’t think God is some zeus, and if you picture that it will almost seem like what most people who don’t believe in God call fairy tales, how better to relate.

This is also a reason I see many people trying out weird religions that have to do with energy sources and such that are a part of the universe that regulate things, and all of these new age beliefs. It seems more believable to people. If people can picture God as something more than a white bearded man in heaven with angel with wings and harps, I think more people will believe. Do you understand what I’m saying? If you box up a belief in human terms and images, you are bond not to be awe struck.
