one time i woke ranting about tosters in the copboards… after 10 seconds i couldn’t remember what the hell led me to say such a thing…
but then other times dreams will seem like a vivid experience that we can recall…
something obviously affects our ability to remember our dreams… i have found that chocolate helps me to retain a memory of the dream…
heres another interesting experience i had… (though it was incredibly stupid)
sitting somewhere at school one day i was approached by a few friends and they asked me if i wanted to be “passed out”.
i had heard stories of it and i was interested in it (i saw it in the same regard as hypnotism)
so we went into the lavishly furnished boys bathroom (cement walls and floor) and they demonstrated the process of 2 of their own before i agreed to let them try it on me.
after doing a series of breaths designed to get you hyperventilating, they press on your solarplex with your back to the wall and in about 10 seconds you pass out…
here was the experience from my point of view starting from the 10 second process…
ok feel nothing… nothing… nothing… woah light headed… woh head is heavy… woh wtf - blank…
woh im driving a race car… this is awsome and i’m going really fast… woooooooo!
bright light- tunnel vision- - shake my head and come to
“woh where the hell am i? why does my head hurt?”
“uhh we forgot to catch you ?”
“catch me? wtf?”… “oh right the pass out thing…”
stupid right? i seriously don’t remember what led me to believe that it was an o.k thing to do… but i lived…
what did i learn? that i had an awsome racing dream in roughly 4 seconds…
i conclude that either because the dream was so recent, or because it was a certain state of unconsciousness, i was able to remember my dream quite vividly…
this also makes me raise the question “do we always dream?”
