Have you ever seen an old detective show where the veteran detective was “Going with his gut?” Being a detective, he may have had some life and death scrapes. Being a detective, he made decisions that may brings justice, or ruins someone’s life. He had to make good decisions or judgements. Overtime, he may have ended up with a sense of things.
A farmer around 1900 or so, his livelihood may have depended on the rain. He may have ended up with a gut feeling or sense about things. He could feel the rain in his bones. He had his Farmer Almanac and a long career in farming. He could read signs in the sky, and the weather, and just “feel” when it was going to be wet or dry.
In Christianity, a man’s body is a temple. Jesus lives in a man through his Holy Spirit. Part of learning to talk to God is intuitive. It may have started with a man learning to trust his gut…in an understanding of growing in faith, a personal relationship with God.
A lot of people, they went to college, and they became book smart…or were supposed to be book smart. They may have received an education taught to them by professors who hadn’t participated in an industry for decades. The professors taught them how the industry “Should be.” When someone actually gets to their job, they may have found out their professors were full of crap, and there was nothing like having real experience in something.
A lot of people are book smart in The Bible. They may have never read the Bible, but they were still opinionated about it. What is the context of things?
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. (James 1:2-4)
It is good to have Bible knowledge. Someone doesn’t really know how it works till they start living it.
Intuitive. In a sport, like football or basketball or whatever, someone may have drilled movements and plays. They were being taught muscle memory so that when it was game time, everything came naturally and smoothly. Overthinking may hurt someone’s performance. An athlete learns to react in the moment. This is similar to Biblical Intuitive reasoning.
Faith is evidence of things unseen. (Hebrews 11:1)
Man is married. He goes to work, and works a long day. He is tired some at the end of the day. He drives home and finds his house clean and dinner on the table. He didn’t see his wife clean all day or cook. He had evidence of things unseen.
When her husband came home, he came home on time, and came home with his full paycheck, and didn’t smell like a bar, and have a pocket full of pull tabs. She received evidence of things unseen.
Overtime, husband and wife, they may have grown in faith, a knowledgeable dependence with one another. As long as neither did anything to give reason to doubt, this relationship grows. Doubt and fear kill faith.
This would be Biblical Intuitive Reasoning.
