I just saw Invinsible last night. If you like football, you will LOVE this movie. One of the best I’ve seen… and if you are from Philadelphia you will like it even better. (I am).
It is about the Eagles coach Dick Vermeil, having [now unheard of] open tryouts to the public, and how Vince Papale rises to the top of the heap. Mark Wahlberg (love him) is Vince. This movie has it all.
I wrote it quickly which was obvious from its length and well-pointed out typo correction.
Let me add:
This is a gritty and touching story that makes you want to cheer at the end. Vince Papale is down on his luck probably more than any person you could meet. The story centers around a South Philly bar -
(Ad, you would love this)
– a neighborhood bar that all of his best friends from “forever” hang out every night. It shows the jealousy, the support, the comaraderie, and the pain in that moment in your twenties when you realize your dreams may never be fulfilled… the thought of being a factory worker when you know that you really could have been a “contender” in a sport, or having to sell shoes when you know that you play the bass better than Jeff Ament in Pearl Jam. It illustrates that one moment of decision to do or die; to take yourself to task… or leave this earth knowing you were too damn afraid to try.
You will LOVE this movie. Ooops. Already said that.
