Sorry, I don’t understand what you just wrote.
Don’t make what she wrote any less valid though One Liner.
The fault is on me for not understanding (not the author).
So long as we don’t hold authors up to a set of standards, what you say is valid.
Welcome to Ilovephilosophy, prepare to be confounded.
I don’t expect much from myself let alone anyone else.
I think a doobie is affecting the author. But in any case. Violence is based solely in survival instincts.
Not everything is based on survival (some things are just purposeless) and certainly not all violence is based on survival instincts.
All violence can be traced to the person’s core survival instinct. That the brain convoluted and twists it, does not take away the core.
I can train an animal or a human (given the ethics) to do anything through rewards (it becomes habitual rather instinctual).
They will be trying to survive and thrive by following the training. Habitual behavior is at its core, survival instincts
Given I know nothing about you but was 99.9% sure you would write what you wrote indicates that your reply is a habituated response based on survival.
Quite likely as so many things about us is about the base survival instincts. The search for happiness, as an example , can find it’s roots in survival.
Is anything not based on survival, if so can you provide an example.
I can not think of any that cannot be traced to the survival instincts. We have a variety of emotions as do animals that are for survival , even humor. Without entertainment of even the blandest type, the energy within could atrophy which goes against survival drives. I have observed little Anoles showing signs of entertaining themselves. Pushing a tiny pebble around for a couple of minutes or a leaf being twisted with feet… It is always a good thing to take time to observe even small life. A pebble is not food nor is a leaf, there could have been scents of food , enemy or other but, that would not require minutes to deduce.
Any war on Earth is fratricide. War is the breakdown of diplomacy.

Christianity, for one: it is opposite to survival, of the fittest. Because, according to this view, survival is only a temporary stage of transition.
Actually it is about survival, all religions are survival based even the ones from ancient times. Mental security is survival based. A questioning mind needs an answer, a fear filled mind needs comfort, if not, then atrophy of thought then suicide /death
Ierrellus,
Any war on Earth is fratricide. War is the breakdown of diplomacy.
Strictly speaking, our own Civil War engaged in fratricide but you can’t say that any war is fratricide unless you’re speaking maybe from a christian perspective…as in all Men, which include women, are brothers.
You would agree, wouldn’t you, Ierrellus, that at times diplomacy is NOT called for but action is?
There are times when war is the only solution both morally and ethically though it may seem a bit absurd or paradoxical.
