Or is there something feminine about needing and fighting for attention from others? It seems to me like males who fight for popularity and stardom, fame, are very faggish.
Don’t you associate manliness and masculinity with independence, individuality, uniqueness, and lacking neediness?
Sometimes they are (maybe often they are). I wish my mom was like a pro weight lifter type of a thing. It would probably mean I’d have a healthier life.
Women are hella patient thought, taking care of these most foolish babies and toddlers. I could never do that shit.
Why don’t you go and ask the next lion you encounter in the jungle who’s looking for a mate or proving to be considered the Alpha male. He may give you his answer as he tears you apart and gobbles you up.
Aside from that, what you describe above might be from improper nurturing as a child, too much of the wrong kind of attention or too little of the right kind of attention; low self-esteem; narcissism etc…
This, to me, is not so much gender related as it is a part of evolutionary and psychological compulsion.
Faggish? You need to buy yourself a dictionary.
No, I don’t or I might say NOT NECESSARILY. I associate those four characteristics with particular INDIVIDUALS, particular human beings, who are growing or have grown into awareness, who are maturing, evolving…who are becoming…ad continuum. They haven’t completely become who they are meant to be but you WILL see those characteristics in BOTH men and women.
What do you do insight[foul] when you see a female coming? Put on your dirty tunnel vision glasses?
No, that seems pretty universal to me. There are some tendencies to get attention in different ways -men have traditionally been more of the athletes/rock stars, and loving that attention, for example. These ways of getting attention are more balanced between the sexes right now. Men also have tended to seek attention, for example, through their cars. And to show a problem with your schema, they have tried to get attention through their independence. And every goddam Movie plays to the needs of men for having the attention of the Beautiful woman. If that was not a driving male fantasy and need, man they would have a different story.
They seem to run the range from very traditionally male to very feminine. Just like men who are not famous and popular.
As far as the neediness just listen to the songs men sing, and what they all the heartbreak they complain about. But beyond that I Think men present more of a facade of independence, but they need that attention from women - whether a succession of women or one woman.
Well, no specific types of bands. I mean, what is a band. They tend to be people, more likely men, who get up on stage in front of other people whose attention they want. Right from there should be a clue that men want attention. From there the lyrics of many men’s songs have to do with longing for women, bemoaning the loss of a certain woman, Calling out there interest in a woman and so on. Boy bands makes me Think of five or so 18 -20s guys with some kind of synchronized steps, often singing stuff written by other men, and sure they fit the mold. But I was thinking more of popular (including not so popular) Music in general, all forms, going back, even, for many decades.
And by the way, in my World longing for love or wanting to perform are not discrediting qualities. I just happen to Think men have these things also.
