Is it over for now?

We know Palestinians are doomed and nobody really care about them, not even their Muslim brothers, but I don’t see how this war could go now unless someone do some crazy shit to end the ceasefire agreement

70 k people killed and 170 k injured.

If it’s like any other peace or ceasefire treaty of the last few years Israel will break it somehow like they always do.

You can clearly see this time even Netanyahu is tired of the backlash.

He’s a disgusting ruthless person, he always has been. A real duplicitous cutthroat, I wouldn’t believe anything that man says even if he told me the sky was raining.

I am deeply sceptical about the proposed ceasefire in Gaza. If the ceasefire does come into effect, even temporarily, it will of course provide some relief to the Palestinians in Gaza, who have been subjected to severe oppression and violence for a prolonged period. However, I wouldn’t celebrate too soon, as the terms of the ceasefire are similar to those of a previous deal that was rejected by both Israel and Hamas.

Clearly, the Israeli government, particularly Netanyahu, is primarily interested in limited pauses rather than a real end to the war. We have seen Netanyahu’s unwillingness to end the war, and the long-term phase of the ceasefire involves the withdrawal of Israeli forces and reconstruction, both of which are unlikely to happen.

Furthermore, the presence of the U.S. military or administration in Gaza could fuel more militant resistance and potentially create a stronger Hamas. There are also political complexities within Israel to consider, including far-right ministers threatening to resign if the ceasefire goes ahead, which could destabilise Netanyahu’s government.

Against this backdrop, the approaches of Joe Biden and Donald Trump must also be called into question. U.S. negotiations and potential Gaza administration proposals remain highly problematic, reminiscent of disastrous colonial-style interventions such as those in Iraq. The ceasefire is a fragile and limited pause with an uncertain future and far-reaching geopolitical consequences.

I understand your point.

For me the greatest problem in this whole situation, besides the unnecessary violence against civilians, is the very existence of groups like Hamas, because they have no principles; they act as terroritsts and instigators, using the Palestinians themselves as shields. I understand the Israeli government wanting to get rid of Hamas once and for all. It’s like having a house where you live peacefully with your family, and a group of people starts threatening to invade the property and kill your family. You end up having no choice but to react. Netanyahu’s reaction this time was very disproportionate because it affected many people who have nothing to do with Hamas, but it’s difficult to think of a rational alternative to that situation.

It all goes back to the creation of Israel in 1948. At that very moment, a Palestinian state should have been created as well. Since it wasn’t, it generated a feeling of revolt that apparently will only fully end when the last Palestinian and the last Israeli are dead.

Exactly, and the displacement of 700,000 Palestinians, most of which landed in Gaza. Hamas, Hezbollah and all the rest wouldn’t exist if the Israelis hadn’t attacked Gaza or Lebanon, they are resistance organisations.

If every remaining hostage is not released on Monday or Tuesday, don’t hold your breath.

Everlasting is such a biblical word. “International Board of Peace”makers … one way or another? How does that play out if someone doesn’t hold up their end of the deal?

Was this the accepted deal?

Source of below quote:

What does “stabilization” look like?

I think it’s most likely that Netanyahu himself is becoming increasingly unpopular in Israel, because the whole world with the exception of the USA is openly criticizing Gaza.

I think he might realize he has gone too far this time.

If I am Benjamin Netanyahu, I’m humoring some people until they can see their hopes are false and their expectations are too high. Once it is clear and very present that the “peacemakers” have failed at stabilization, I resume what I was doing before the cease-fire, and this time I have 100% approval from all the naysayers — at least the ones whose opinions I respected.

Apparently, it’s really for good:

…how about now?

Now what?

It’s officially over. This one at least.

At this point once they finish off Gaza in occupation I wouldn’t be surprised if they make huge moves against the West Bank afterward. They now only feel emboldened to do so.

@Maxx

I wouldn’t hold your breath on all of that.

How about this one, though?

According to Google’s AI Overview…

Data from the Ministry of Health in Gaza, as reported by the United Nations, indicates that women and children comprised about 46% of the 67,173 Palestinian fatalities between October 7, 2023, and October 7, 2025. The total percentage is the sum of children at 30% and women at 16%.

That’s 20,152 Palestinian children slaughtered by Israel.

Anyone who thinks that this insanity is over is dreaming.

Someday in the not-so-distant future, someone will slightly paraphrase Arya Stark from Game of Thrones and say the following to some survivor of Israel’s inevitable destruction:

“When people ask you what happened here, tell them the North remembers. Tell them Winter came for House Netanyahu.”

On the other hand, Israel is an amateur compared to America when it comes to killing Arab children.

Never forget that the former Secretary of State - Madeleine Albright stated that the deaths of 500,000 Iraqi children caused by America’s sanctions on Iraq back in the 90s, was “…worth the price…” of whatever imperialistic goal America had in mind at the time.

Winter is also coming for House America.
