Is it possible that the creator God has gone insane?

Is it possible that the creator God has gone insane?

Is God pleased with what he creates? If not, what pleasure does failure give him?

Revelation 4:11 (KJV)
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

God creates all things for his pleasure.

I can see that if God created all things perfect as scriptures say he does, then he would gain pleasure from that creation.

Deuteronomy 32:4
He is the Rock, his work is perfect:

Do you see all about you as perfect? I do but most do not seem to see perfection. They see all with flaws.

If not as perfect as it should be, — and particularly us humans whom we are told are mostly destined for hell and destruction, — why would God create us as is?

With so many failures, one must wonder why God does not change his method of creating.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Albert Einstein

Is it possible that the creator God, has gone insane?

To declare God insane - at least God somewhere in the sense of the monotheisms - is an odd concept, because insanity is generally seen as a severely damaging disconnection from what is true, and the damage generally has to affect the person with the beliefs at least also. God generally determines what is objective. I don’t mean, sits around determining, but is the measure, in these kinds of definitions of God. So insane would be a reach or the term is being used in a new way. That God could be insane by our standards, sure. From there you are using Bible quotes as parts of an argument showing that God is insane. This can be a useful tack if the goal is to question scripture, rather than demonstrate truths about God, unless one accepts scripture as true, which seems unlikely to be the case, here.

But basically, it seems to me, you are bringing up the problem of evil. Is there something you think is useful about doing this in term of the sanity/insanity of God? How is it different from all the other problem of evil arguments?

This O P has nothing to do with the problem of evil. I have no problem explaining evil to my satisfaction and no argument has yet to refute refuted my view. It is at this link if you care to discuss that there.

This O P is just to discuss why God does the same thing over and over while saying he wants a different result.

Some think that is insane and I agree.

OK, but it seems to have the problem of evil within it. IOW you are judging reality to not be perfect or somehow not made/created as well as it should/could be. This is pretty much the problem of evil, even if you are not focusing on it, it seems presumed. (note:the problem of evil need not be that there is evil, it can also be things like suffering, natural disasters, etc.) The ‘look around you does it look perfect’ seems very much a kind of problem of evil tack.

Einstein’s definition would mean that most people were insane, at least to some degree, which makes it a poor definition, or at least a minority one. But I question the idea that God is getting the same results. Reality and Life on Earth are evolving/changing through time. How do we know the results are not changing?

And then in parallel to the problem of evil responses: how do we know God is not getting the results God wants? How can we be sure what perfect/best is? Would it be best if everyone was just having nice experiences and smiling all the time? I don’t know. I mean, I don’t know what would be objectively better or worse About that. I don’t know all the criteria. To judge God insane one would need to be able to judge God in comparison to a sane God, and also know God’s context and options. That’s beyond me. To judge whether a person is insane you check to see how the person is doing - hygiene, social Connections, work, getting the basics like food and shelter - and if these are not doing well see if there are cognitive/belief errors that are causing the problems. A very poor person might have problems with a lot of these things, but the problems are not caused by them thinking they need to live under a bridge to keep the CIA from knowing where they are. Is God doing poorly? Problems with getting enough sustanence? What ideas does God have that are damaging his day to day functioning? How do I know this?

It seems to me the only way to KNOW would be if God said: there is a problem and I need help OR I am able to get a God level view of things.

Are either of these true for you? Is there some third way you come to make this judgment?

No comment on your last.

In terms of knowing that things are not going God’s way is that no man has yet been born without original sin and as we are all sinners, the vast majority will end in hell. That is how we know we are not heading towards the best end.
