Say for an example I am 24 and I wanted to be enlightened and I waited until I was 30 is it possible that if I wait and set a age that I will become enlightened at exactly that age ?

I’ll be honest… I cant even really comprehend what this means… what does… age have to do with realization? Most people die sooner than they’d attain enlightenment.
So it has nothing to do with time ?
Depends on how much energy and focus you put into becoming enlightened.
In Tibetan Buddhism the idea is you can become enlightened before death.
You get what you put in.
In Mahayana you delay your own enlightenment seeking out to enlighten others first before yourself. You become a Bodhisattva.

Yes. You can’t get older without becoming more enlightened. It just depends how much you want to listen to that enlightnement.
It’s not a “certain” age though, more like an “uncertain” one.

There is what is known as the death meditation in some Buddhist traditions where upon dying you go into a meditative trance upon passing. It is said you become one with the entire universe as you’re in the process of dying.

Something I’ve experienced over the years.. due to having been at the beginning of the process of dying, even though for all intents and purposes I represented as healthy.
I did not think of meditating in those moments, but then again, I wasn’t expecting them.

Why attach enlightenment (as something attained) to proximity of one’s death?
If it’s desirable to attain it during a lifetime, why would it be important to accomplish that before death comes since by that time it would be too late?
What great value does enlightenment have that it should be incorporated into one’s existence

You are always a certain age.
If you want to be enlightened, you don’t want to wait. So, you didn’t really want to get enlightened. So, no.
