Which will you pick?
The red offers you the chance to open your eyes to the world.
The world being the truth.
The blue pill allows you to sleep walk.
sleepwalking being that you can go on believing that everything is ok.
I find myself asking is there an even bigger scale
Are these even choices that I can make?
Am I a tool that can not see that there is no choice.
Do I entirely have the power to choose knowing that God knows my every choice?
If God knows my choice, does that not mean I have no choice.
DOES THAT MEAN i AM PRE-DETERMINED TO MAKE MY CHOICE.
The question becomes is it a choice of illusions or the illusion of choice?
My decision will be determined by my genetics, my upbringing and my circumstances, and if i could make a decision in spite of those things then it would be a random and stupid decision.
Free will exists only if there is no creator. If there is a creator then there is a purpose or reason we were created ,no free will there. Only the illusion of free will. Christian God gave its people free will but, it came with a list of things not to do thus, it removed free will by threat of punishment. Most gods say do what you will but don’t do this ,this and this, removing free choice or free will, Free will means no stigma attached to your choice, no punishment no, retribution, no rewards or payments either. Free is free it means no barriers no, covenants it means to make a choice and be free to follow it. Once you add barriers /morals, rules, laws, rewards, punishment, free will, free choice is poof out the window. Oh you can make the choice to do wrong and follow it through but, your choice is not free your will was not free it came with a price and you must pay it one way or another.
I am in agreance with Oreso, I am also a non-religious determanist, a philosophy I defend strongly. I dont believe that our minds are sperate from the physical world, I believe they are physical. Somebody please prove ma otherwise and present me with a uninfluenced thought.
Kriswest, you talk of a will free of consequences. I talk of a will free of choice. I believe we have no choice in the decisions we make, free will is the ability to make a choice. Consequences do not come into my determanist equation.
