We have to acknowledge our thanks for America’s assistance during and after WWII, but also that from when the Soviet Union disbanded, American lobbyists have been trying to undermine the Human Rights of the working class, and working against the EU.
The EU is as fallible as any human organisation, and there is a lot of room for improvement, but in the light of human rights abuses and corruption in Britain and America, these countries have no right to pretend the EU was worse.
Trump is just open about his hate of the EU, just as he hates anything that works to improve the common good. All of these supposed elites think that people just wanting to live a life are losers, and that their craving for more money than anyone could ever need is normal. They are sick!
This old chestnut has been overplayed. There is no doubt who beneftied most from the end of WWII, and that is the USA.
The “Marshall Plan” was not free, and it was decades before the material beneficaries paid back the soverign debt incurred by the re-development. This also involved complicity in the American ideological war against the Soviets, and giving up control to the USA defense strategies and so on, allowance of bases all over Europe, Turkey etc.
No one can tell how much sooner and how much more congenial would have been the fall of the Soviet hegemony had the US not been so bellicose for decades, and what sort of world it might have been had the US not been the dominant power across the world.
Now, for some reason the fat cheeto man thinks that the world has been cheating the USA, despite the USA getting all the beneifts.
But what has really happened?
In truth what has happened is the the USA is a victim of its own ideology and US business has outsourced itself. WHilst benefitting from cheap goods from t-shirts, trainers, car parts, computer chips ad infinitem, it has lost manufacturing and to balance the loss of tax dollars has borrowed through bonding debt which most of the world has financed. China has already dumped a trillion, but still holds 0.8 trillion. That is the tip of an iceburg of around £16 trillion that the USA owes the world.
The fat cheeto man in 2 months has destroyed the world’s confindence in the US markets; wiped $12trillion off the share value, and shut down much of it’s government infrastructure.
The DOGE chainsaw has ended or seriously cut AID, Education, Science, Nuclear safety; forestry; FAA …
One has to wonder if there is actually the means to gather any Tariffs, let alone sustain the economic fall out. You need governement agencies to do that.
Yesterday at eh NRCC his speech revealed a worn out slurring, rambling doddery old nonse.
