Is what happens to you a result of something you did?

I was reading a Kabbalah book and they seem to suggest that everything that happens to you is your own fault and is a result of something you did prior…do you believe this? DO you believe that everything you do is your own fault?

I believe that everything I do, I am responsible for to some degree.

But everything that happens to me, I am not necessarily responsible for, in my view. A man named Glenn Hoddle used to coach the England football team, and I remember that he articulated once that he believed that disabled people were being punished, for sins in a past life. Needless to say, he was sacked.

If disabled people are not always responsible for their disability (which seems to me to be pretty obviously true), then not everything which happens to you is your own fault.

Not everything that happens to you is your fault. Everyone is subject to what we might call fate. Harmful events befall even the most virtuous people. Justice is a human aim, not something the universe gives out. I think I have said this here on ILP before but I’ll say it again , the only place where people get exactly what they deserve is in fairy tales and other works of fiction.

yeah, I retract this question, I mean obviously everything that happens to you is not because of something you did and Kabbalists are cracked out.

What is it with you and Hollywood culture?
