Fantastic news!

A win for humanityā€¦ and common sense. :fist_right::fist_left:

Fantastic news! Heā€™s now free to stay in Belmarsh prison!

It was what he was working toward, and wantedā€¦

This victory means Assange can challenge US assurances regarding the conduct of his potential trial and whether his right to free speech would be upheld.

.so whatā€™s your problem?

12 years in ā€˜prisonā€™ for reporting factual information. And so it continues! Not too much of a problem for me, Mags! Not sure you can say the same for his wife and two young sons.

A stark warning to all would be journalists. Mission accomplished?

ā€¦you seem to think you know my position/feelings on the matter, better than Iā€¦ Iā€™ll leave you to your summations.

Perhaps he didnā€™t see that one coming or think that that would ever happenā€¦ leaking decades-worth of war crimes is never going to go down well, is it. :smirk:

Another paragraph from the article:

The ruling, delivered this morning by two senior judges, paves the way for a full appeal in the UK. Assange, currently detained in Belmarsh Prison, now has several months to prepare his case. His legal team argues that his actions, which involved the release of confidential US documents in 2010, exposed war crimes and were in the public interest.

And, heā€™s one of the chosenā€¦and you are not.

Heā€™s a spy and should be put to death.

Who are you referring to? Zuckerberg or Assange?

assange

How about hackers who watch/listen through Internet technology?

As you have emphasised one over the other, perhaps you could give your definition of a ā€˜spyā€™.

Ichthus77, it would appear that we asked Mr Reasonable unreasonable questions.

Iā€™m not trying to get caught up in an argument about the definition of ā€œspyā€. We all know what he did. He should be put to death for it.

I know nothink.

Whatever you say, Mr Judge and Jury.

Iā€™m not sure. Had it not been for Mister Assangeā€™s reporting - you say spying - I would have no knowledge of Crazy Horse 18ā€™s craving to shoot complete strangers in some foreign land. Should Mr Assange die for drawing our attention to such lunacy? In your view, yes.

What about Kristen Meghan? What punishment would you reserve for her? That oneā€™s got to be an open and shut case, there can be no argument. Wretched spies! :joy:

I think everyone kind of already knows what happens in war zones. Itā€™s telling that the information he released would give the impression that this isnā€™t the sort of thing that every country does.
