Ever since Avicenna and Averroes doubt arose between Being, Existence and Essence. The middle ages through the Renaissance worked on Being (followed by others lately Heidegger and Sartre) this Being was tautological, grounded in our concept of what we understood God to be. He was a tautological definition, of Himself ,and closed system of concepts. The Renaissance through Guttenberg, Luther and others opened up the true definition of God, through living through the birth of the modern world. His Son became known widely, in an existential setting, but the ontology of the closed “Father” prevented his “Son” to be understood, as sons of God, so we stayed with Being. And since it was still a closed system, we couldn’t not really understand our Existence, as sons of god, (which was a figurative jump from a very literal father) so we lost it. Doubt crept in, and if we could not understand the father through his son, surely we could prove that we existed. But doubt overshadowed this youthful attempt, and, we tried to intend to bracket our understanding of our phenomena and later retrospectively by signs to deconstruct this doubt, by eliminating the problem of our existence how? By machines, weapons, things, toys, tv’s images, and films. But our toys became dangerous. We realized this. The environment was filled with fear, self doubt , weapons of mass destruction, unwholesome gases, and faithlessness. So here is where the next stage of our evolution is coming in. the reduction, and the deconstruction.being analysis, failing, fear, and self doubt recurring, everything seemingly on hold and remission, what to do, who to believe, trust? The connections of fear have to open up. Are they? Sartre’s authentic man has to , fearlessly step forward, admitting his craziness, his mistaken turns of belief, --a belief in a failing analysis, an analysis based on false, tautological premises, and accept the fact that human between the GREAT DOUBT and the quick fix (existential analysis) there is the ancient question unanswered----after all the signs point nowhere but to themselves, after all things bound (on heaven and earth)(logical connections included) , meaning of the very life destroyed, what have we left???what is love? Faith???Progress???brotherhood???charity???surely not just a such of descriptive feelings? There is a void between the medieval doubt and the faith in the effects of the industrial revolution. It is not logically reducible on that level. But it is that, which evolution strives for:::::::::the essential nature of man. The other alternative will have christ fail, in His last temptation. But He didn’t.
