First-hand knowledge - experience
I stick my hand in fire and experience pain.
Second-hand knowledge - experiences through proxies.
I watch another get his hand burned - empathy.
I listen to another tell me about getting his hand burned - anecdotal oral learning.
I read a book about someone getting his hand burned - learning via texts.
The sign of wisdom is learning through second-hand experiences., because first-hand experiences are costly.

Discussing anything with a deranged psychotic, wasting one’s time or actually taking them seriously.
Insanity,
First-Hand experiences - finding patterns through direct engagement.
Realizing the futility of taking insanity seriously, or humouring it.
Here the objective is what DETERMINES the “VALUE” of an experience…an act, a choice.
If the objective is entertainment or if it is healing, or conversion, or a serious philosophical discussion about an issue, to reach a consensus that can be useful in the real world, alters the subjective EVALUATION of the option.
The judgement is a triangulation… and the consequences validate its accuracy.
Juxtaposing the objective with the subjective evaluation, preceding the act…the choice.

One of many options, placed within one of many objectives.
Second-Hand alternate option.
Watching others engage a deturbed, possibly insane, individual…and evaluating, form the consequences, all the possible outcome of a first-hand experience.
Evading the costs, within the context of all possible objectives; determining costs/benefits.
A computer can store huge quantities of data, information, yet it is not intelligent because it has to be told what to do with the knowledge.
This is why IQ tests are not about repeating data, but about pattern recognition.
The application of knowledge is found in the patterns a subject can find, and how to apply them in real time.
Meaning is related, as meaning signifies how data itner-relates, is interconnected, and to what degree.

So, existence is full of meaning…yet it has no purpose, no end.

It really was my JOB to make earthquakes in a past life. I was really good at it. I was the earth but not the people on it. I just took orders.
This is why society will inevitably become more inclusive, herd-like, matriarchal, as it ensures the survivability of the majority of its members.
