As much as I like the word ‘dystopia’ to describe our crumbling society today, I like the idea of ‘koyaanisqatsi’ even better as a way of getting to the heart of the global chaos and destruction occurring on so many levels where everything does indeed appear to be out of balance, with life disintegrating on so many lev…els – the physical, the mental, the environmental, and the spiritual – and calling so poignantly for another way of living, as the Hopis so wisely understood. See this film as a visual reminder of koyaanisqatsi.
