In America, as we fall into a slow moving dictatorship,
I thought I would spread the joy by examining the UK and
brexit… I began by noting that the UK has gone through a
lot of PM’s over the last few years…Since Blair, who served
for 10 years, you have, including Blair, 9 PM… the average
number of years for the PM job has been 3.1 years…but that
leaves us an accounting problem, how do we account for the two
who have done less than 2 months… Truss lasted 50 days and
Burnham has been there for 6 days…so, if we take out Blair
and his 10 years, we have the average length of time for a PM
at 2.26 years and if we removed Cameron, 6 years, we have
7 PM’s with roughly 1.7 years average… again, Truss and Burnham
kinda messes up the average…
Now the vote for Brexit was in June 2016… roughly 10 years ago…
and the actual leaving Brexit was in 2020…
As we know, Cameron was PM during the vote… and he left office
shortly thereafter… while it was Boris Johnson who was PM when
they left Brixit… in midterm I believe… but what about afterwards?
we have had 4 PM afterwards, and the longest lasting one was
Starmer… at 2 years…with Truss ad Burnham being less than
60 days combined… this lack of stability should tell us that
Brixit was not a success…and that is supported by polls which
suggest that if the vote was today, Brixit would have been totally
defeated… with 58% of voters wanting to return to the EU…
and only 42% voting to remain…
and we can see why… studies have indicated that the UK
has lost almost 2 million jobs since Brexit… and that the economy
is 6 to 8 % smaller because of it… and those numbers are frankly
alarming…
But it also suggests something else…that going it alone, as
the UK has done, is a bad idea economically…
which also suggests that IQ45 drive to MAGA is going to
go down the exact same route… we need, economically,
to intertwine ourselves with others if we are going to succeed…
The village idiot has by excluding the U.S from other treaties,
has damaged the American economy… There is a lesson
to be learned from the UK shooting itself in the foot…
and I hope we, perhaps, might learn that lesson…
that if you want economic success, you must begin
by becoming stronger economic partners with others…
but of course, that is but one lesson, what other lessons
might we learn from Brixit…
