I can’t stand when people throw these things around as insults, or even labels really.
Here’s a real easy equation:
Corporation=C=Constant Variable
Politics=P=Set of two (Republican/Liberal)
C+P = Systematic Manipulation of World Economy by Old Money families. Doesn’t’ matter what entity in the P set you want to use.
You don’t get it… it’s set up to make you argue. It’s set up for the Thirsts and Imps. Sorry if this is ‘offensive’ but I don’t think it’s any surprise that those two individuals love to argue Liberal/Republican. Pete does it for the other side.
lol and then I heard someone say ‘Communism’ all proudly, I think it was Scyth, and i think it was ‘fucking communism’ or something equally as suiting to be on an episode of the Wonder Years. You think Communism is any better or worse? It’s just different… another duality to get stuck in.
It’s isn’t Bush… it’s the fact that he’s Knighted by the same Queen the US fought freedom from. See they do it right in front of your face and laugh because when someone like me points it out you ridicule. They laugh inside as they lay down 9/11 ‘mourning’ wreaths.
They laugh because they know you don’t give a flying fuck.
It’s odd but in the US much of what’s conservative used to be what was liberal.
For instance, if you want to be a communist you have to have a very high system of values. People have to be on the same page, and that means sticking to “old fashioned” values.
Current liberals tend to promote an “anything goes” mentality that would make a community oriented life quite difficult.
Conservations promote the idea that people should be left alone and decide for themselves. This is actually a liberal value, in that it opposes oppression.
Liberals like to create social policy to enforce correct behaviour towards others. This is conservative in its goal.
Many liberals remain liberal in their focus on social programs and many conservatives don’t, but I bet they would if it really caused misery, and high crime if they were discontinued.
True. And then you throw in “Democrat” and “Republican” and it gets even further confused since each has been differently conservative and liberal over time.
I usually try to focus on a single issue and then work outwards from there to define what we currently consider to be liberal and conservative positions.
I’m only 21, but I’ve never been interested in politics, simply because it seemed obvious early on that it’s a circus. Which is unfortunate, considering this circus controls many aspects of our lives.
Then again, I hardly feel right complaining when I have a forum I can speak freely on about such issues, when I make more than 99% of the world, and am “far” from wealthy. But that doesn’t mean improvements can’t be made.
labels like liberal and conservative and others always remind me of the same problems with political parties. and we all know that George Washington warned against getting involved in these types of associations. while the warning fell on deaf ears, it still stands true. they are all stereotypes and prejudices. people use these terms as a crutch to avoid thinking for themselves and just following what the majority of these people are doing.
i truly wish that people discussed the subjects of topic instead of attacking the stance instead of addressing the points of the argument.
