Living A Life On The Road As A Drifter

I’ve done a good bit of couch surfing, and aimless road trips occasionally sleeping in my car, and I slept on a bench in New Orleans on halloween once. Never used a tent really though. I dunno man sleeping in a car is bad enough.

Do you go out for coffee - coffee is really important to start one’s days  - or maybe I ought to say “in” for coffee or do you make your own on the road like the hobos of old? I’m not calling you a hobo, Scavenging Vulture. #-o Not to romanticize such living, but I would think that it does have its moments, when the weather is pleasant and mild. Do you ever sleep outside the tent and fall asleep while looking up at the stars? Or near a river, where the sound of the currents take you away to pleasant dreams (I hope).

Be sure to be a true vulture and pick up after yourself. You never know the true and useful value of something which others might throw away.

Yes. By all means. Used to be one.for 2 weeks. This was a bad time for me.was into the beats, my mother just died, my mother in law threw me out,my wife went to live with an ex, and was living in a park I drank a lot, smoked, and had coffee from a blue metal cup. I thought of hitting the road, and just Being. Washed and shaved at mcDonald’s, ate cheap fast foods, the weather was still good and it wasn’t too bad. But things changed, reality bit for the better, and everything turned around. It was kind of a wistful, romantic notion, but now, the streets are mean, and it’s dangerous to be down and out. .
