I read a thread yesterday saying, “Do you live your philosophy”? Do I understand the word philosophy correctly? The word has so many answers it’s hard to pick just one. Does the word philosophy mean life love happiness truth or belief?
How can I roll philosophy’s many definitions into one definition since there are many? Is there one definition that covers all the ones I mentioned? Thoughts? pljamesone@att.net
Would an accurate description of how you live match up with a description of your values? I’d say it means something along those lines. Or, do what your ideas produce, in action, correspond to what you would have predicted?
Big problems with verification, establishing cause and effect, etc here, but that’s another story…
Anon,
“Would an accurate description of how you live match up with a description of your values”? There are positive values and negative values. Good and bad values. It is a fact chaos has a short time period. But something has to manage chaos as well as order. The balance is more order to less chaos. Even ones values can be questioned. A rock can kill one person a nuke thousands. Life means different things to different people. To moral people do unto others, to radical terrorists kill. In todays world it seems to be greed and disorder. Thoughts please? pljames
I’m not sure what you’re asking, plj. What kind of thoughts are you looking for?
