Login Issues

There is some authetication error that is happening with my other account, which is Chuck Finley. I cannot log in.

This is disappointing.

But you are still here, are you not?

Any of the mods here understand English?

Keep that up and see where it’ll get you

Why are you a mod with an attitude like that? Aren’t you here to make sure the forum runs smoothly? Can’t you just help me? What’s with all the spitefulness at this place?

I gather most of you are not children.

I have moved your thread to H & S, where you will get the technical help that you need.

Chuck tell everyone at kts I said hello.

All I’m asking is for someone to read my original post, where I state my problem regarding the other account. This is all very straightforward.

Chuck you’re not supposed to have two accounts.

I wouldn’t if there wasn’t a bug that prevents me from signing in, as I said.

What kind of bug? Have you reset your password? Cleared your [ILP related] cookies?

It just keeps asking me for the captcha, stating that I have tried signing in too many times. I know the password is correct as I’ve done the reset twice. But this issue persists. This is cross-platform and browser.

Thanks for the response. If it’s not an easy fix, don’t worry. I have like the same amount of posts on this account as the other one now.

Are you getting image captchas? Or question-and-answer Turing tests? And sorry to be a condescending prick, but are you sure you’re getting your password right? It’s case sensitive. I’ve logged myself out, intentionally got my password wrong until I got a Turing test, and then used the correct password and had no problem passing the test. The only thing I can think of is that your password is wrong, which might be a problem on our side. If you send admin AT ilovephilosophy.com an email from Chuck Finley’s emails address, I’ll reset the password on that account manually and get it working, then you can log in an change it.

It’s up to you, but personally I like Finley better than Finlay

EDIT: alternatively, if you send an email from Finley’s email address, I can merge the two accounts, delete the other one, and change Finlay to Finley. The email is just to confirm that you are the owner of both accounts.

I figured it out. Looks like it was an issue with MaskMe. It’s still in beta, so that makes sense.
