London bombings: Things are NOT transparent.

Actually, personally I noticed something strange myself on that morning. The northern line, which is the line I use for travelling was shut on the morning when I was trying to make my way into work. It was shut by 8am way before the bombings happened at around 9am. There is definately a feeling on the ground here that officials knew something was up. I certainly had a feeling of strangeness myself. I quietly centred myself and witnessed the madness that is London when the transport isn’t operating properly.

We seem to automatically assume that terrorists are at work here. Why is that?

I maintain that things are not what they seem.

Here is what others are saying.

THEY KNEW …

Correspondence on the London Evening Standard Internet Forum from two people
who travelled by tube on the morning of the London bombings:

Hi everyone,

Did anyone travelling in BEFORE the attacks began yesterday notice anything
peculiar on their tube journey?

I catch the Piccadilly line at 7.15am each morning from Southgate to reach
my work in Kensington by 8.00. Normally, all seats are taken by Finsbury
Park and carriages are packed by Kings Cross.

However, yesterday my tube journey was eerily quiet. For the first time ever
there were spare seats in my carriage all the way through zone 1. It was
noticeable enough for me to wonder what on earth was going on. This was at
7.45 - over an hour before attacks began.

I’ve also heard people saying that the Northern Line was being shut down at
the same time.

Is there something that we’re not being told?

yes!!

I was due to pick a work colleague up from balham at 7:15am, but when I got
there I was greeted with Tube emergency vans, police and and hoards of
people being turned away from a closed station.

All very strange they must have known something was going to happen, they
surely had a tip off. As I drove along the road, (which also follows the
tubes) they were all shut and hundreds of people were queuing for buses.

When I reached Oval, which was open there were two armed policemen (very rare indeed)in a road
next to the station, which for a quiet area like that is extremely rare. The
northern line was shut from Morden to Stockwell.

They blatantly knew something was going down, they just got it wrong and are
hoping no one mentions anything.

I noticed a strange clump in my yogurt that morning and that tipped me off. So, then I rustled up a goat that I slew and carefully perused it’s entrails. It had a mighty funny looking gall bladder! I knew that I should have made some transatlantic phone calls, but I didn’t! Damnmit!

maybe they need a patriot act in england…

but as I am sure you know, they phone in bomb threats all the time…

perhaps the terrorists… er “bombers” phoned in a phony threat to divert resources from the actual site… that might cause more mayhem…

but that’s the thing… they can’t all be known…

an armed society is a polite society…

You’re an especially nasty piece of work Ad. Please don’t respond to my posts unless you have something valuable to share/add/refute. Otherwise fuck off.

A

Talk about nasty!

Don’t order me around; thank you.

I find the conclusions that you jump to a bit extreme. You are accusing your own people of blowing you up. You are saying that your own government is murdering you. The nasty streak is within you. Frankly, and I’m not kidding, I find this type of thread to be insulting.

The other day we talked about what makes a conspiracy theorist. I did not have an answer. Now, I believe that it may have something to do with not being able to imagine that there is a world outside of one’s door. Everything is happening in a self-contained bubble.

"LONDON – Police said yesterday they had identified four British-born men, all thought to be of Pakistani origin, as the perpetrators of last week’s terror outrage in London. …

Authorities said they think more members of the cell remain at large and could be primed for another terrorist strike.
At dawn yesterday, police and army units raided homes where the bombing suspects had lived in or around Leeds, a stronghold of Pakistani Muslims. The man arrested there was said to be a close relative of one of the bombing suspects. …

In Leeds, neighbors of one of the suspects expressed the community’s shock.
“They were a nice family bringing their kids up like all families bring their kids up,” one said. …

British police were calling for increased authority to track down e-mail – by requiring Internet cafes to store electronic communications and cell phone operators to record all calls.
“We have to be able to follow [these communications] back,” said Ian Blair, the newly appointed chief of the Metropolitan Police. "

Hello F(r)iends,

Liquid A, I am glad you and your family are OK. As an aside, I would leave the detective work to the authorities/media.

-Thirst

Yes, I do have a nasty streak. Clearly! Although I have to say, it takes talent to bring it out.

I’m not jumping to conclusions, I’m posting possibilities. The first thing my colleague says to me on the day of the incident is - terrorists! Bloody hell, where does that come from? I’m simply asking people to observe other possibilities. I’m not a sheep that needs my government to tell me what to think. That’s just more of the very thing that is despised in the West. Freedom at all costs. I have a feeling we’ll all be carrying ID cards because of this, and happily too after the outrage a while back on the issue. Am I the only person that sees what a good excuse this is to start implementing plans to make sure we’re all in check. Good robots, well behaved, supporting their wars and their causes happily because hey - terrorists are a threat. Wake up! We’re being hypnotised - we’re sleepwalking to a beat of a drum that I don’t know the rhythm to. Already ‘they’ can read our emails, observe our comings and goings - there is a camera on every corner in London - the average person in London gets photographed something like 300 times a day…Well I’m all for freedom of thought and intuition. My intuition tells me something is off and I’m not about to start mistrusting myself now simply because the majority believe a myth. You may say I’m a nutter - fine I don’t care, call me mad if you must. This is not simply me. I told my friend the northern line was shut way before I even attempted to get into work. She said that’s odd, the bombings only occured later. When 1 + 1 = 3, is that not a warning signal? Or have you fallen so deeply into your coma that you cannot hear when you intuition is speaking?

I do apologise for my harsh use of language not for my obvious intent to question ‘authority’. I will not apologise for my call to think outside the bloody box.

Imp, that’s bollox.

A

Yes sir, no sir, three bags full sir.

A

Hello F(r)iends,

You seem to conclude that your friend’s assertion is equivalent to him saying “Mad Cows” or “Tom Cruise did it”. Are you really that surprised that the possibility of four bombings would be attributed to terrorists? You want to seem to give credence to the possibility of ‘government conspiracy’ to the scenario?

Correction. You appear to have concluded it was a government conspiracy. Ummm… Bloody hell, Tom Cruise did it? Where does that come from? would be my response.

-Thirst

Hello F(r)iends,

You make a good point. Clearly the police, your intelligence operatives, your Prime Minister, your Queen, Prince Charles and Tom Cruise are all guilty and part of the conspiracy.

Edit: I forgot the media, Bush, Hitler, the Jews, and the KKK…

-Thirst

Um, no! I haven’t concluded. I’m still questioning. Suggesting alternatives. I can see though that I can’t argue with you. If I say the tube station was already closed by 8am, I was there. You are still going to say well…they were warned. If they were warned that far in advance, there should have been no-one underground. Instead 50 people died. C’mon, at that hour one train would be filled with 1000 people and a bomb going off underground would certainly damage the tunnels. How is it that the underground was up and running by 6pm the same day. I’m simply asking for us to look at what is obvious. It is probably only obvious to me - in which case I must be mad.

You lot on the other hand seem to know it was terrorists. How do you know? It’s the fear factor. Be afraid, be very afraid because they’re coming to get us. Oh I have an idea. Let’s nuke a country. Which one will it be this time?

A

what is? the report?

the fact that you had all sorts of cameras on the subways and they still haven’t seen who did this?

if you don’t want to fight terrorism/crime you get what you allow…

-Imp

Well, all fallacious arguments aside, it is never wrong to ask who would benefit from a crime, police do it all the time.

Liquid Angel seems to be claiming that her very own government might have orchestrated the attack so as to engender support for (I am guessing) previously unpopular legislation. If not orchestrated, then perhaps allowed certain attacks to be carried out with prior knowledge.

Say you are what Political Scientists term a ‘realist’. What is right is determined by the strong and what rules exist are those that the powerful decide. Act first, ask questions later. Assume the very worst about people.
Suppose you are a realist, given the aformentioned scenario, is it really a stretch to think a government may do what it feels is best regardless of what its citizens may think?

I wouldn’t call myself a realist, but I must admit that governments( or should I say individuals within any given particular government) act in their own interests everyday. Liquid Angel reports that she herself saw two armed policeman (which isn’t a common occurrence in merry olde England) I assume in advance of the attacks in a related area that normally should not have an armed police presence.

Let us accept for a moment that she was not hallucinating, nor overly worried about her skirt falling off :stuck_out_tongue: and she simply saw what she saw. She posits an explanation for this that requires only the acceptance of the belief that governments can and often do perfom rather rotten acts on their own citizenry. Being a realist would mean one must accept the possibility of such a thing.

I am not saying you must take the argument as being true, but her conclusion would appear to be valid given that certain unstated ‘realistic’ assumptions are true.

What L.A. is considering is NOT “crazy.” What IS crazy is why intelligent people fail to learn from history. Gov’ts have a terrible history of doing or condoning nasty shit to their own people (not to mention the peoples of other countries), and we’re not talking ancient history. Looking at the US alone, we can discuss dozens of “iffy” and blatantly obvious examples.

Adlerian, as always, has it backwards. What makes people NOT want to accept a “conspiracy” theory is their need to believe in a “safe” and “just” world, where the people in charge will take care of them. These types of people do not have the intestinal fortitude to consider the scary alternative, despite the EVIDENCE time and again presented in front of them. Hitler said it best when he talked about “bigger is better” re. lies.

Ask yourself why the US gov’t stymied all attempts to get to the bottom of 9/11 (imp’s pathetic refrain of “they didn’t,” is far less compelling than the words of THE INVESTIGATORS THEMESELVES!); why did they confiscate all video recordings of what happened around the pentagon just before the attack; why did the landlord (owner?) of the 7th WTC bldg. give testimony that confirmed what anyone with a brain and a pair of testicles or ovaries could recognize when seeing the “collapse” (i.e., controlled implosion) of that bldg, which contradicts official events; what is on the bottom of the plane that hit the 2nd WTC bldg (looks like a missile–definitely not an engine nor shadow; why is there so much evidence that 9/11 did not go down like they claim; why do proponents of the official story have nothing but ad hominems against those who oppose this story, or attack one of two of the WEAKEST alternative explanations, but have NOTHING to counter the 90% of the STRONG, apparently irrefutable arguments; why does the official story of the Oklahoma City bombings contradict most of the MEDIA and EYEWITNESS accounts of what went down; why won’t the gov’t reveal the videotape evidence that shows the official version of that bombing is garbage; etc. etc…This is a quick list off the top of my head.

In psychology, we never have FACTS. We have evidence and opinions and hypotheses and so on, but never FACTS. We never PROVE anything. However, if we find lots of converging support for ABC and lots of contradictory evidence against XYZ, we have confidence to make certain inferences. We’re not always “correct” but at least we improve our understanding (or try). Rational, disinterested, flexible people who look at all the current evidence–AND EVIDENCE THAT THE SAME GOV’T HAS OFTEN ENGAGED IN SUCH DIRTY TRICKS–MUST conclude that something is very fishy in the preceding examples, not to mention so many more. People who cannot do so are ignorant, scared, blind patriots, apathetic, and/or in such denial b/c to consider the alternative explanations is far too psychologically daunting and scary for them.

The one thing I will say for those who engage in cover-ups is that they are experts at psychological warfare. They quickly act to discredit those who produce the contrary evidence so that people have a good reason not to want to believe them (e.g., “I don’t want to look like a fool, just like them”). A recent example of this was in Canada, where Dr. Nancy Olivieri refused to be shut up and went public with her findings that a certain medicine seemed to have very adverse effects on kids. The massive smear campaign waged against her would have broken men such as imp or adlerian, but she stood strong. Eventually HARD COLD EVIDENCE PROVED that the smear campaign was all lies and she was able to return to her job (the hospital/university had originally got rid of her at the drug company’s request, and the gov’t did nothing).

The same thing happened to 2 or 3 scientists who refused to shut up when an evil American company tried to poison our cows and milk supply with some hormone shit that even the US gov’t wouldn’t allow (I know, harsh language, but look at the facts). Cell phones are the next big thing. Smoking was the old big thing. And so on…

The point is, why would anyone so stupidly believe that leaders of a gov’t would be any different from leaders of a company or hospital or whatever, especially when these leaders have proven time and again they have no ethics or morals…Contragate anyone? (Reagan should have been found guilty of treason) Noriega-gate anyone? (We all remember Bush Sr.'s claim never to have met the man, right? Those pix of CIA leader Bush being all chummy with him told a different story)…again, one can quickly and easily raise dozens of examples that have been PROVEN to show what gov’ts have done and are willing to do. Similarly, only an idiot would fail to realize that, in the West, most of these leaders are cut from the same cloth as the biz leaders, and their past/current/future prosperity is usually inextricably tied together.

So, not to say that LA’s hunches are necessarily correct, but I’d much rather be suspicious of my gov’t than blindly believe their lies that are very insulting to anyone with a 3-digit IQ. The sad thing is, gov’ts know they don’t even have to try THAT hard b/c they’ve been allowed to get away with so much silly shit with the craziest of explanations before (magic bullet anyone?). All they need to do is convince the masses that they shouldn’t care or shouldn’t think too hard; then the minority who have the brains and bravery to challenge these insultingly ridiculous explanations have to deal with the (sorry to say) rather unintelligent and/or unmotivated masses. Throw in a bit of confusion, constantly changing stories, certain spins in the media, smear campaigns, repeated lies, and most important EMOTIONS, and you can get away with literally murder.

Sorry to ramble so much, but I am disgusted when I see people dismiss any contrary claims out of hand just b/c most people are too stupid or psychologically weak to consider the possible ugly truth, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE SO MUCH EVIDENCE TO SHOW THAT YOU SHOULD WORRY!!!

Of course, some people would like to look at my rant and say “see, he’s just another rambling conspiracy nut!” No, I just get emotionally charged by others’ ignorance and psychological weakness/simplicity.

For anyone who wants to mock me, I have a serious, legitimate challenge. I’ll put up any amount of money. We’ll make arrangements for all this. Then, I’ll give you (let’s take a random number…) TEN recent contradictions to official stories. If you can COMPLETELY discredit even HALF of those challenges with CREDIBLE and LOGICAL evidence and/or explanations (i.e., something like “This is what the Warren Commission found” doesn’t cut it), you get that money. Of course, if you fail, I get that amount from you. I’m dead serious about this. Much of my life I’ve been interested in reading up on these things and checking out evidence for both sides; yes, there ARE many “conspiracy nuts” out there, and some are TRULY loopy. But people thought those who claimed tobacco giants knew they were killing us and were targeting children were nuts–hey, “respectable” scientists on the tobacco companies’ side argued against this…; people who warned about climate change decades ago were called nuts (now EVEN BUSH the weasel is ackowledging this FACT, even though he had despicable scientists claiming otherwise (and evil staff to distort the reports…). Anyway, the challenges I’ll present have been scrutinized by many REAL respectable people and I’ve yet to see anyone be able to shoot them down with good explanations or evidence. If you think YOU can, put up the money. It might be worth your time…

If not, then you have to ask why you’re so willing to believe the “official story” and sneer at posts such as LAs. Ignorance is blistering…

Oh, and a warning here. Adlerian is going to drool as he sees an opporunity to try to jump all over my post. He also thinks he has the support of at least two others who have written against LA’s original message, so he’ll have lots of “courage” to do so. I know at least ONE of you has seen what kind of tenaciously closed-minded ignorant imbecile he is (in the terror thread (and, like a typical coward, he hoisted his hefty haunches out of that thread and fled into here without addressing the things he knew he had no ability to address :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: )), so please make sure that your posts are kept entirely separate from his, even though he’s going to try to lump them together. Such tactics can confuse the message (which he wants, since deep down he knows his message is shit, just like his reasoning…) :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

PS

oyyyyyyyy…I just quickly wrote what I was feeling (and thinking) off the top of my head and had no idea how long it was. I’ll understand if nobody bothers reading the whole thing…  Also, GCT wrote a similar sentiment in a fraction of the space…

It was a knee jerk reaction. My jury’s still out.

Hello F(r)iends,

The police benefit from the overtime hours pretending to investigate. The intelligence operatives benefit because more of them will be hired to ensure this never happens again, as more are hired, more will need to become supervisors–this comes with financial benefits too, the Prime Minister benefits because fewer people will question his actions and the Downing Street Fraud, err Memo is forgotten, the Queen benefits because taxes on all these financial rewards will reward her financially, Prince Charles benefits because no one will care about his wedding, his ears, et al., Tom Cruise benefits because more people will watch his movie and the destruction of [very] foreign terrorists, the media benefits from the viewer increase and they charge advertisers more, Bush benefits because he can continue his war, the Jews benefit because they can continue to punish Arabs (because they are all terrorists right?), the KKK benefits because anytime hate is spread they have victory, and of course Hitler benefits because he isn’t really dead and is laughing somewhere in Argentina… {end of sarcastic joke}

Now: here is something that is very mean: the dead benefit because they go to heaven where they don’t have to deal with people that see conspiracies everywhere. {end nasty joke}

The dead don’t benefit at all. {end of frankness}

People that jump to the assertion/assumption that it was the terrorists are guilty of the same crime of people that jump to the assertion/assumption that it was the government. If I failed to make this point before, my apologies.

P.S. Do you know how many people would have to be involved on these conspiracies? It is easier for a small group, like terrorists. We will know sometime soon with some clarity.

-Thirst4MoreBabble&LessMundane

You forgot the benefit to both O.J. Simpson and Ashlee Simpson. Jessica Simpson may or may not benefit, the tv show the Simpsons… probably no benefit at all.

Edit

How many people, probably enough to complete the task. Perhaps no more than the number of people who watched Catherine Genovese get brutally raped and murdered beneath their apartment windows and did nothing. (That’s the reailist in me talking).

How many massive conspiracies have ever been proven in the history of the world?

Perhaps is was the Freemasons or the Rosicrucians that did it! Maybe it was the Cuban/ Mafia conjunction that shot Kennedy, and poisoned Marylyn Monroe, that set up 911 and the recent London bombings in order to take the focus off of the poor plastic surgery job that transformed their leader—Lee Harvey Oswald— into the likeness of George Bush Senior’s son. I say this because there are no photos of Oswald’s body after he was shot (of course I never looked for any) and I have not seen a “who killed Kennedy” special on the tube in like five years! It’s a cover up!!!

Please read more on RENSE.COM.

The fact is that if you have a world view, and the ability to use Occam’s Razor, you will find that there is a lot of stuff going on in the world and a lot of conflict. It appearing on your doorstep, especially during a war, provides the simplest answer possible.

However, exploring alternatives isn’t bad, as long as one does not get pissy when others do too.
