London pub trip

I am on a trip back to England and I have some time to myself in London. As an experiment, I’ve decided to let everyone know that on Thursday evening from 7.30 I’ll be sitting in the Princess Louise in High Holburn (just outside Holburn station). If anyone fancies a pint, come down. I’ll be there whether anyone says they are coming or not (I often sit in pubs reading anyway).

Open invitation / all welcome.

Might have tried if you were in the Hull area.

Would be up for it, except London is several hours journey away and the relative I usually stay with down there is in poor health.

I hope someone turns up, and if not that you enjoy your book.

Who’d have thought so many philosophers came from up North?

Name a good philosopher from the South.

In fact, scratch that, name anything good from the South.

I visit York every summer, perhaps me and FJ can arrange a beer sometime.

Gordons?

No wait I just googled it and somehow its Scottish. Give me a while, there has to be something!

Let me know. I always need an excuse to travel.

Martin Luther King Jr.

Crimson Tide football.

Soul food.

Uh, Maia, right?

Just joshing.

Brevel, I can’t make it to England this week. But if you, or anyone happens into the armpit of America, (Birmingham Alabama), you’re all welcome to crash at my house. I have tons of beer and can accommodate almost any desire. Whores, cocaine, philosophical insight. You name it.

As a good philosopher or just something good from the South?

I’m serious, the North is where all the best stuff in England happened. Industrial Revolution. Agricultural Revolution. The invention of trains. The Beatles. Sean Ryder. Paul Gascoigne.

Okay fellow teacher, I’ll pm you with couple of week’s notice - it’s usually sometime in August.

Eh? I’m not from the south…

Sorry, I was just taking a stab in the dark.

Ok lol.

Not to worry. I think Brevel will get it.

The dirty armpit of the US is Evansville, Indiana.

That’s just a fact.

Technically its Grundy Virginia but I digress.

Just missed you, had you been a week earlier I’d have been up for that. Or if I’d had a week more holiday.

My deepest sympathies :stuck_out_tongue: Are you a Brit or have you emigrated? I had you down as American.

I’d have thought you’d have some time for the Peasants’ Revolt, at least?
