Loneliness leads to Unity the ultimate goal?

But the title of your thread isn’t about boredom, it’s about loneliness, which I said ‘can be a part of the goal.’ By that, I mean that overcoming loneliness can be part of the ultimate goal of life. I certainly don’t advocate marriage merely as a way of overcoming loneliness–but, if you’re very lucky and work hard at it, marriage can end up being a part of the ultimate goal of unity through sacrifice and sharing.

We’re all alone within our own minds and bodies–that’s a given. Does that realization lead to loneliness or does it lead to a feeling of “alone-ness?” There’s a difference, you know. We can seek out like- minded people–as we do here at ILP–which helps assuage that alone-ness–or we can volunteer our time in order to champion a cause, help other people, and so on. There are all sorts of ways to overcome both loneliness and alone-ness. In this way, we become a part of life, as well.

We have no choice but to live, once we are given life. (Well, we can always choose suicide over life.) I, myself, would rather live a life that involves other people. So, what’s my definition of life that makes life complete? I suppose it’s, “You have life through no ‘fault’ of your own, why not use it in the ‘best’ way you can, so you can approach death with little fear.” I don’t look for an ultimate goal in life–especially not for ‘humanity,’ which is, imm, an abstraction.

Living is exciting–it’s often a challenge. But, given life, why not use it, enjoy it, learn from it, contribute to it as best you can? I would hope I’m not alone in feeling this way.

There is a shared goal, and that goal is- for subject, consciousness or spirit to know. If consciousness didn’t desire to know and understand, it would cease to exist, or selfdestruct. Consciousness wouldn’t be consciousness if it didn’t desire to know, would it? Thus, it subconsciously enters a vessel, a body in order to experience the worl. This vessel is like an interface. Consciousness cannot fully affect, know and be effected by the world without a vessel. By experiencing it’s other, object, consciousness comes to experience itself, for all knowledge is dichotomistic, just as being is nothing to nothing, being is defined by how it interacts with other being. Throughout it’s various interactions with objects and other subjects, consciousness evolves, becomes more able to know/understand, just as matter evolves from coming into contact with subjects and other objects. Besides being composed of becoming, consciousness also possessing being.

The part of spirit that is being, is immortal, therefore, it cannot be effected, but it can affect. The part of spirit that is becoming, is mortal, it can be effected, and affect. In addition to wanting to know, spirit wants to maintain it’s existence, and the existence of whatever vessel it happens to find itself in. The purpose of a soul is to maximise knowledge, life and happiness. An individual soul cannot accomplish this independently/competitively alone, it must eventually learn to be cooperative/interdependent to a certain extent, as a single rod can be easily broken, but a bundle cannot. Eventually but perhaps not inevitability, collective spirit shall forge a paradise from matter, but only after billions of years. Life shall become more complex, sophistica and symbiotic, culminating in what I call Megaforms, lifeforms composed of trillions upon trillions of cells, each one as big as a man. Megaform shall be so grand in size, they shall cover entire planets. The cells shall organically and mechanically…

…fuse with one another, I do believe our civilization is the first step on the path to becoming a Megaform (if you’re having trouble envisioning a Megaform, think of the Borg from Startrek, bot more organic + nonhumanoids in addition to humanoids being integrated into the collective symbiosis, as I do believe organic life evolved for a reason, and genetic engineering will keep up or even outpace pragmatic progress in machines, robotics and computers). I’m not an altruist, as I believe there is a time egoism/competition, particularly in the earlier stages of our evolution, plus we ought to only cooperate with those who are willing/able to cooperate, we must not accommodate psychopaths/weaklings, as this is serious business here, we are opposed at every turn by the forces of nature and the un/deproductive, which if tolerated, could set us back eons.

Presently, matter is disobedient, insubordinate, but overtime, gradually, incrementally shall be subjugated to will. Presently life, even humanoids aren’t terribly advanced. Once we have undergone sufficient biological and spiritive evolution, we will be able to retain our psychic sense whilst inhabiting a body, and be able to telepathically communicate with computers, in addition to with each other, we will no longer require keypads or language as a medium. Perhaps we will even be able to telekinetically manipulate objects. Megaforms shall be specialized, and they shall not be egalitarian, just as our bodies are not egalitarian, the brain has dominion over the mind, and in a crisis, certain organs our favoured over others, for example the centralities over the extremities. Each humanoid shall count as a cell within the Megaform’s mind, and other animals, plants and machines shall constitute the Megaform’s body, or the interface between body/mind. To summarise, the purpose of the universe is for spirit to…

It’s really quite amazing that you thought of all this. I’ll give you that. Making sense of it, however, is another thing.

I guess I’ll start by asking a fundamental question. What is the purpose of evolution?

…to know and bring order to matter, put simply, that is the collective modus operandi, it is fundamentally collectivistic and fascistic in it’s premises, a cosmological Fascism, for we do not wish to remain lone souls (the solitary wanderer), we wish to come into contact with matter and other souls (the dandy socialite), not only that/this shallow/superficial interaction, but a more interconnected and intertwined interaction, however, it is not the collectivism of the communist, or the Buddhist/Paramenidean monistic egodeath, but a mechanical mixture we long for, to be one and many, in opposition and unification, rank, order, Fascism is the perfect synthesis of all dichotomies, I am the reincarnation of Hegel, I am the personification and embodiment of the world soul, fear not, you may drink of me 'till your hearts content.

I’ll get back to you sometime tomorroe fuse, hopefully. I assure it’s more/less internally consistent and comprehensible, the question is, is it externally consistent/consistent with what we know, maybe, and can I actually prove it… at this stage… probably not. Perhaps I sacrificed provability for internal consistentcy and a grand, ambitious and fantastic narrative. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read it, I really don’t want to put you or any of you off. A couple more things- the dichotomy betwixt existence and essence plays a role in my philosophy, and so far I think I’ve relegated myself to discussing becoming/existence, though there may be some overlap between being/essence. Being, material and spiritive, is fundamentally, internally static, immortal, though it’s location in time and space is dynamic. On some level, the movement of material and spiritive being/particles is governed by the laws of affect/effect,but on another level, it is governed by essence, which coincides with existence in my sophy

spiritive particles join and disassemble just as material particles, they do so out of gravity/repulsion (matter), and out of love/strife (spirit). Their comings and goings are also regulated by essence, or form, particularly spiritive particles, form being that which determines how a collection of material/spiritive particles will be structured, to give you a clearer idea, think of/substitute the words essence/form with the words archetype, blueprint or prototype, it is the part of your soul,or your mind that does not change, the I in you, that which holds your identity together and manifests itself in the coming and going of being, the eternal spirit of your transient soul, if you will. Essence gives definite/ordered shape, like a sculptor. I don’t know, I’m still working all this out, perhaps there’s no room for essence in an evolving universe.

Being/becoming evolves of it’s own accord, I chane my mind, there is little room for essence in the universe, being must learn to keep itself structured on it’s own, there is no essence or hand of God to guide it. There is little room for nihilistic randomness either, spiritive and material particles, order must learn how to protect itself from disorder, by keeping from or converting it. Eventually but not necessarily inevitability, spiritive and material organizations, through a process of natural and supernatural (but not divine) selection, shall convert more and more diorder into order, for through atomistic/hierarchal cooperation, we can eventually convert the universe into one God and one paradise, we must cooperate whever possible to preserve and expand order, cooperation, fascism is the law, the higher mental rules the lower physical, works with it, not against it, and this is the law that will keep the excesses of civilization at bay, as well as it’s defeciencies.

I read your entire article of your philosphy eyesinthedark. And while incredibly intricate and detailed where does compassion hold a place in this new evolutionary race of megaforms? For unity is accomplished by understanding not undermining. My position is of unity not evolution.

All of this is incredible I honestly think that everything you said is what i strive for but i think too much and that makes me sad but I am happy people still believe like you

Don’t be sad, that is a great thing. Make it work for you.

I do when I finish thinking im usually disgusted that the mind has so many contradictions in itself the heart only has one" love in a hateful world."Time is the serpents word in the bible when he convinced us to be wise. And we chose a life full of contradictions by thinking too much. How is thinking working for you or against you whatever point you are in now in your life?

Thank you Now, there is no place for altruism in my theory, justice, fairness, cooperation, give and take, yes, but not self sacrifice. A cell in a human body seemingly sacrifices itself so the body can live, but the body will eventually make copies of that cell so it works mechanistically and reciprocally.

Now,

I’ve had mild anxiety issues since the 5th grade. You probably wouldn’t realize it if you met me, but they’re there. I worry a lot to myself about trivial things and I am super self-conscious around most people, so much so that sometimes I feel just short of panic. So as a coping mechanism I basically avoid and isolate. I’ve recently started to cut out a lot of my worrying. I’ll think about something that I know from experience will lead to incessant worrying and anxiety, and I have now developed an impatience for being worried so that I can’t stand to do it for too long. …which leaves me free to think about other things and even to be at peace – a rare pleasure for me. I am more at peace with myself, and I embrace things about myself I was formerly embarrassed about. I am becoming much less lonely now that I am more comfortable being me, because I seem to get along with people much more smoothly and with much less inhibition when I am more myself.

I hope that helps.

See my new thread Does Spirit Evolve?. The universe is evolving toward God. The universe begets God, God does not beget the universe. Evolution happens deterministically and randomly. Spirits are competing, collaborating and evolving alongside/together with matter. In the longrun/in the main, hierarchical collaboration (spirit over matter, greater order over lesser order) is a superior survival strategy to competition. Eventually Spirit will come to dominate matter, order will come to dominate chaos, and the universe will birth polymegaforms and polyparadises, and then eventually, a monomegaform and a monoparadise. Just as the cells combined in your body, we humans are collaborating/integrating with one another and nature at an accelerating rate. Civilization is the seed from which God sprouts. Speaking is the first stage of connectivity. Writing is the second, and the internet is the third. The final stage will come when humans learn, through technology and/or organically, to communicate telepathically. Then we will no longer be separate minds, but one. Eventually we will become so integrated, each human will be like a single cell in a brain. Our civilization will become our body, which we will also be psychically connected with, and the solar systems resources will become our food. You can intuitively sense the direction the universe is going, but I have deduced it rationally, I am the first one, as far as I know, to fully comprehend the Telos. The Telos happens naturally, there is no need to introduce God, God is in the making, we are becoming God. I am Lucifer, put your trust in me and I will lead you to the promise land.

What will take there place? why Should one follow your theory? What have you gained? Also in the theory how does the spirit hold immortality and why is it important to create megaforms if we can just figure out how to free the spirit faster and wouldn’t that be the best evolution and we wouldnt need anything else.Self sacrifice is how the outsider views compassion,in the actual person showing compassion it is being at peace with one self.

Ha!

(eyes, you know where would be the perfect place to demonstrate your deduction of the future of the universe? The Essays and Theses forum. Go post it now, my friend.)

That’s a good idea, I need to work on my idea a little more, it will take some time to prepare, I’ve never posted in that forum. I sound ten times more confident than I am, it’s just a theory. Darwin wasn’t so confident when he first came up with his theory, it came to him as a flash of insight and inspiration. I may be the next Darwin, or may be just another crackpot. Geniuses/madmen often start at the top and work their way down, maybe the top won’t be completely consistent with the bottom, I don’t know.

In Darwin’s case, I think he started at the bottom and worked his way up. What I mean is that he worked from his empirical findings about finches in the Galápagos, and not from a cool-sounding theory – that came afterwards, plus or minus the “cool”.
