Way back when I’d mentioned sharing some images of my paintings. Here are three of them. Some of the digital photos were blurry so I still need to work on my portfolio. Hope you’re all doing ok.
Here’t goes:
All of them are between 24-32 inches across, watercolor and chalk pastel.
They’re reflections of different moods I was having at the time I painted them and representations of color patterns that I imagined to coincide with these moods. I never was good at talking about my work, which made art school quite a challenge.
School is going. Writing papers and poetry, submitting them to publishers, getting inducted into honor societies, creating art, volunteering, and working at my various jobs are all “going” well.
However, I am still lonely. But I am “in love” (with someone who I haven’t really talked to-and might not be able to and probably shouldn’t be thinking about) and am about to enter counseling. Perhaps there is still a chance for me.
thats an excellent art school. i also paint and i appreciate your medium (watercolor plus pastel). i wish your images were bigger. i especially like the 1st and third pieces. for some reason they remind me of some american surrealism minus most symbolism. the third appears to me very neurological…a cerebral landscape…in the true sense of being almost a landscape. cerebral landscape is a painting by seliger i like very much.
Well, I’m usually depressed- does that count!? I’m kidding. The formal answer is “no”, but I am involved with an Art Therapy group- it helps me get my anger out… GRRR
Did students ever combine creative writing with art for their MFA program at the school?
I don’t know, but that’s a good question. You could probably email someone at the school and ask if you’re interested.
I’m just embarking on the wonderful world of researching grad. schools and would like any advice you might have!
Undergrad has a 50% freshman dropout rate, which probably has something to do with the cost (too expensive), quality of the education (does not match cost) and the “attitude”… lets leave that one alone.
I give it one “no no” smiley , but if you’re interested you should research for yourself and not take my word alone.
Alex, for you or anyone who’d like to see the full size images of the paintings you can pm me with an email address and I will send them.
