I’m impressed - I’d buy/live in one of those. I like the bar model the best… :obscene-drinkingcheers:

Won’t it blow away?

The biggest problem with this type of construction is antiquated zoning laws. All expanded foam, plywood/foam sandwich panels, ferro-concrete/foam, are not only possible, but have been out there for twenty years or more. The problem isn’t building them, the hassles have been obtaining financing on experimental construction techniques that may not meet building codes. Since every state controls it’s own building standards, banks aren’t willing to back anything that might not meet those codes.

What we need are federal standards so that banks can feel confident in making the loans necessary to build them. There is also resistance from traditionalists who don’t want an igloo next to their Cape Cod Salt Box. Integrating these unconventional designs into traditional neighborhoods is it’s own problem…

Weight prohibits that and since it is secured to the ground it should not…

Dome shaped homes are the best if you are concerned about wind or tornadoes.

yeah, dome shaped homes are great until a giant chicken comes by and sits on it…
