Looking

So you stopped looking.
Well I suppose you tried your best.
I have to hand it to you –
you left no stone unturned.
You looked everywhere.
Behind the sunset,
In front of the trees,
To the back of the ocean,
Beside the moon,
Underneath the birds singing,
Overtop of the children playing,
Below the clouds,
Above the grass,
And right past your love.
And there wasn’t a thing there.
Not a goddamn thing.

.

Whereas I normally “get” your poems, I don’t get this one. Maybe I’m not looking properly :stuck_out_tongue:

It speaks of someone looking for something not to be found in the physical realm - said something being something more real than what can be found in the material world of our known universe.

Sounds a little like it’s hurt talking…
Have you been overlooked Ms. Rainey?

Nice . The frustration is perfect. The unspoken hurt is there as well. How many times, rainey? How many times?

She’s a man

Oh no she isn’t!
I know her better than you…

I like your new avatar rainey
