Love is mighty.

Which game has better aesthetics?
This, or this?

Gears of War is a game about Love. Call of Duty is a game about random military bullshit.

Gears of War is about of the homoerotic relationship of Marcus and Dom Fenix. It is about the male light and comradic determination over darkness. There is a cohesive narrative to it and a grand scale. Now, the COG are more or less fascist, and greedy for oil, so they are pretty much the bad guys, even though they are presented as good guys and the male light. So, it could be said that Locust are the good guys, and represent Mother Nature. In anycase, its still a game about love and passion, moreso that about random military bullshit and following orders and tracking down random badguys. They are fighting for what they love and consider to be beautiful, not a paycheck.

Call of Duty is about random miltary bullshit. The narrative skips all over the place, switching through characters randomly. Look how sloppy the aesthetics of the game are. I cannot play that game over 15 minutes without feeling sick to my stomach.

Now, love is vulnerable, but so isn’t all items of complexity without a shell. Love is the force that drives higher aesthetics and beautiful things. Children are Love and often better at unbiased aesthetic discernment than we are. Love drives us to avenge our fallen comrades, love is powerful. Question is, does Erik have any love in him, or is he a man of steel?
