You sound like a bunch of 23-year old art students who should have graduated last year, feeling all cool because you’re the artiest ones at the frat party, smoking weed and cigarettes on the back porch of the three-flat…all trying to one-up eachother and make out with Acceptance.
I thought some of his lines were refreshing. I liked this. I sensed he was a little slaphappy and giddy, inebriated with his own vibe. This, I did not like. It’s more common. Not refreshing. Of all the utterances I’ve scrawled on ILP, I am most certain of this one: Acceptance, show some range or you will become boring quickly. You have shown us your devil. Now show us your angel and watch the love roll in.
Most of the poems here are cookie-cutter. Cliché-ridden even when honest. Here’s a guy who can put together some unexpected curves. Let’s not ruin it before it begins.
