making america safer by arresting..........

it is in a nutshell.

September 11 2006 by Greg Palast

… its nut. The department of Homeland security after a five
year search for osama, has finally brought charges against…
GREG PALAST. (journalist)…

Palast:
“Fatherland security has informed me that TV producer Matt
Pascarella and I have been charged with unauthorized filming
of a “critical national security structure” in Louisiana.”

While filming a report about Katrina evacuees which was nearly
adjacent to the Exxon oil refinery, he filmed the refinery.

Apparently without big brother authorization.

The complaint was brought about by EXXON, apparently doing their
best to end the terrorism brought about by
diligent reporters. It took two weeks for the GESTPO, UH,
homeland security, to find Palast. In trying to protect their
constituency which is of course Exxon and other oil companies,
homeland security felt it was not wise to let terrorist know
where an immense, easily found on any Louisiana map and just
as easily googled oil refinery was. So of course instead of
going after osama for killing almost 3000 people, they are going
after journalist who dare to question the official story.
It is nice to see your hard paid tax dollars going after
legimate journalist instead of real terrorist.

How much is the Gov’t responsible to evacuate and how much is the person responsible to evacuate? New Orleans is below sea level its called the fish bowl for a reason. Yea, the officials helped to kill these people. But didn’t they do it to themselves also? All along the Gulf coast For 4 or 5 days before Katrina we were told to move out butts out. Jeez I still see the radar image in my head, the entire gulf was consumed by Katrina. The massive size of her terrified even us semiinlanders. So where does the citizen’s responsibility to thier own safety begin and end? Look most folks down here know the risks, especially those that are natives. The hurricanes kill. It is an irrefutable fact. we get a New Orleans T.V station and that is the primary channel we watch. Christ all they did was tell people to get out and get out anyway you can. People procrastinate they waited.

The Gov’t waited and the citizens waited here and in louisiania. People died. Where is the line? Where do we accept responsibility for our own safety, no matter how poor we are? Or are we to be lead by a leash and expect our Gov’t to hold our hands and save us from ourselves. Is it our life or is it merely that we are born to feed the coffers of others? The Gov’t screwed up but, so did the people.

And as far as filming the refinery well there are laws about that, although wasting taxpayer money on this instance is over the top , Idiot gov’t sheep.

You pay taxes in exchange for certain government services. Is evacuation from a projected disaster such a service? I don’t know. However, immediate aid after a disaster is such a service. Said service was not rendered in New Orleans nor other parts of the Gulf Coast.

one service i would expect from my government is a levee that actually works.

had i lived there anyway.

We should leave everything up to the government…
Why do anything at all? Just sit back and wait for that welfare check.

Safer by arresting…Peter Kropotkin! :astonished:

The city of NO had the responsibilitiy of the levees, not the Fedral Gov’t, nor State nor county, the Levees are under the city’s jurisdiction. The city failed itself. Money was there, they just kept voting to use it in other places. The Levees collapse would not have been so tragic if the pumping stations had worked. There was money in the city coffers to update those too. It went elswhere also. Imediate aid was being rendered the same day. I know because huge helicopters flew over my house towards NO that night all through the night back and forth. The Navy had one or two ships postitioned off shore to come in as weather became safer. Yes the Gov’ts from the city on up screwed up, but, so did the people, it was their money that they voted to spend in other places. It was their lives that they risked by living and staying in a potentially deadly area. I say they but, I too am choosing to stay. Our choice, are we not responsible for our own safety? Or should we become soley the responsibility of others?

Phaedrus: Safer by arresting…Peter Kropotkin!

K: actually, every single day I expect to be arrested on
some trumped up charged. The concentration camps
have already been built in Nevada, Montana, Wyoming,
and the dakotas. The government is probably waiting for
some event to begin filling them up. My guess would be
another 9/11 type event would kick off the mass arrest
in america. The camps are empty, but not for long.

well for one i never said i expected the federal government to do it.

for two being that its a river that runs through the country the effects of how you treat the river at various points would make it a federal problem. not that i think it had much impact on what happened but still how the river is set up could be handled by the feds.
