Making the Consciousness Singularity a Reality

Ok, enough wishy-washy fluffy talk of the Consciousness Singularity, how do we do this thing? I want details. No crystalline, chakra, or third-eye nonsense. Just suggestions rooted in hard facts. Here are some concrete ideas for bringing about the Consciousness Singularity:

FIRST STEP: Establish transpersonal consciousness

  1. expand cingulate cortex and synchronize with other people’s

  2. synchronize thalamic rhythms between people

  3. synchronize other brain activities between people

  4. screw synchrony, let’s hardwire two brains together

  5. let’s try augmenting one or two people’s brains, either by enlarging, enhancing plasticity, or doing something else

Maybe we already have it to a significant degree and we don’t know what we’re listening to…? Like with the simultaneous discoveries of technological advances in different parts of the globe (like the debate over who invented the Calculus first, Newton or Liebniz)… Also, once we get instantaneous, decentralized audio-visual communication networks worldwide we’ll be a step closer to the hive mind deal.

In terms of psychic connections with other people, I think we’ll figure out psychic connection to computers first. And then, theoretically, we can use the communication networks to join it all together. Man, imagine if you could know what anyone in the world was thinking anytime you wanted!

Hive mind, team work, connection and understanding – I like these in many ways…

But hardwiring human brains together? We all have personal space and privacy that we need mentally. Absolute hive mind wouldn’t be a good idea.
