I mean think about it, everywhere else there is some kind of philosophical uncertainty. Only when we quantify things can we be sure that we’re sharing the same understanding of them.
Thank god for math.
It’s so much better than everything else.

i don’t understand you… damn…
What do you mean?
Smears-
My experience with mathematics has taught me that it is subjective qualification that brings people to shared understandings, not the quantitative approaches. The latter is a reflection of memorization of predominantly established facts that keeps society functioning efficiently and effectively. Mathematics taught in public schools is a resemblance of the status quo. You are taught not to question it. You are taught to fall in line, the number line. If you resist, then you are labeled either stupid or a genius, but rarely can a student show mastery over the teacher at early ages. What’s more, if the student challenges the teacher, then the teacher will usually be unable to explain the full mechanics of mathematical systems.
Yeah, maths is cool- imaginary numbers, imaginary dimensions… I personally want to see the flying pink elephant employed in mathematical theories/proofs.
mathematics and philosophy and synonymous with one another.
Math is quantitative logic, quantitative relations… Philosophy is like math on crack, relations of all imaginable kinds…
Mathematics is fine as long as it’s only talking about itself, and not the world. When it talks about the world, it runs into the same problems as every other form of knowledge.
exactly.
Math is just a crutch for the self-proclaimed sane.
I would not call math the highest form of knowledge just the most used and abused. We use math everyday and sometimes abuse it. I make a cake for my family follow the directions except I do not. I misread the amounts and make a brick not a cake.Ummmmm, let me clarify that…, That happened only twice, I was only 20 and barely knew what an oven was let alone how to make Tablespoons, teaspoons and measuring cups work
We need math everyday for everyday chores and life yet. That makes it the most common, not highest.
Kris being the most common might make it the highest. It’s what brings us all together. I mean, that’s pretty good.
It is pretty good you are right. But, we communicate more. Even a hermit communicates. Is not communication a form of knowledge? Are we taught math? Are we taught commnication? or perhaps survival? You do realize that you have the ability to communicate with someone that does not share your language, right?
All humans carry the concepts of math and communicating. I would say both communication and math are up there on the list. IMO the highest form of knowledge though would be self knowledge. To be honest with your self about your self and to know what you are. Seems we do not do that enough.
