How does Neo’s journey in The Matrix resemble that taken by one of
the prisoners in Plato’s allegory of the cave? In relating this story,
what is Plato trying to tell us about knowledge and education, i.e.,
what does real knowledge consist in, and how is it attained?

I think Plato is trying to tell us, via the parable of the cave, that an absolute reality exists, but that we can see only implications (shadows) of it. Paul picks up on this in the N.T.–“We see through the dim glass darkly. . .”
I’ve heard arguments that such an absolute is the carrot before the horse, the incentive that drives us humans onward and upward in our realizations of reality. I don’t buy it. For me, striving toward an unattainable absolute can also lead to one’s self-negation.
Is Plato’s absolute yet another expression of the matrix? I think it encourages such thinking. The medieval {sic} church presents about the best matrix one can imagine; and its absolutism is straight out of Plato.
I personally think all of our knowledge relies on a heavily constructed virtual reality that we have made for ourselves called civilization but ironically this virtual simulation is built upon many assumptions and unsubstantiated idealizations that we find ourselves like Neo scratching away at the fabric of what we call reality fighting to free ourselves upon the discovery that this existance could indeed be a lie.
how is the idea of wisdom offered in the Republic different from that offered in Apology?
what type of person do u think Plato would regadr as the best educated, why?
does the film matrix support Plato’s cocnlusion regarding perception as a source of knowledge?
The complacency and lack of creativity within many persons would eventually make them resist, ignore or attack a person whom ever tried to “save” or “free” them.
One problem in Planto and in The Matrix,
Is the idealism which morally states:
“It is most heroic to save the weak.”
…
That kind of morality means
One can only be dubbed noble and good by the flock after they attept to save the flock from itself, and bare its decadent load.
In reality, the will to save the flock leads to death and waste…
There’s a difference between “saving them” and maintaining quality…
If anyone can show me anything in this universe that can be described as absolute, completed or finished, I’ll gladly admit that minds in, of and reacting to matter, have come to their final end.
And thus Baudrilliard became famous!
