In order for there to be intention, planning, movement toward an end and not in some arbitrary direction, there has to be a consciousness already there… or else there is no ‘trying’… and if there is no trying, there is only arbitrary movement.

Alright so again: in order to try to gain self-consciousness some consciousness has to exist first or there is no willful effort, just arbitrary activity.
Look at what a word means, son. Look at how we use a word and the kinds of things about that use that make it meaningful. There is no ‘trying’ outside of organisms, and where we draw the line is pretty blurry. Is an amoeba ‘trying’ when it seizes its prey?

So “The Universe” trying to become self-conscious implies that there is some type of cooperation involved, either between life forms, or between life and non-life.

Privilege just depends on the context. If I have a glass of water to drink then I am hydrationally privileged compared to someone dying of thirst somewhere right now. The fact I have two arms means I have bi-armed privilege compared to people with one or zero arms. And so on and on.
In modern first world society we are all privileged compared to most people in the third world. Even the poor in the first world have it better, at least materially. Within the first world, do white people have it better than non-whites? Depends on which segments of the groups you look at, but overall you can find patterns of difference between races/ethnic groups. Those hold generally but of course admit of lots of exceptions on both sides.
Ignorance is simply being unaware of something. That can be intentions or not, or partly intentional (like unconsciously pushing away or denying something we don’t want to admit, but not fully being aware that we are doing that).
Not all privilege and ignorance are bad. Some times these are great, and well deserved, and even very helpful or necessary to certain productive ends. Painting everything “privileged” with a negative brush is just a way of down-signaling in terms of socioeconomics and also culturally. It basically means the person doing that is aligning themselves with the lowest possible denominator of a given situation, because in their mind that means they get to claim more victimhood-related righteousness for themselves. The worse someone is or aligns themselves with is the more we are supposed to give them prestige, power, respect for being more victim-aligned. There are also psychological studies on this phenomenon, how people who do this exhibit more narcissism and psychpathy for example and how doing this is also a way for them to gain not only unearned status but additional income. Like all the BLM leaders who took the money and ran, for an easy example.

Imagine living in paralyzing Fear everyday, panicked upon waking up. Death is around every corner. Life is fragile. Becoming increasingly Aware (ie. Conscious) amplifies this Fear. The more intelligent, sentient, self-aware and self-conscious an individual becomes, the more Death, Fear, and Pain-sensitivity become increased.
Intelligence is a direct function of these, as (mental) adaptations.
How does a skyscraper construction worker on elevated steel beams control his Fear? He ignores the danger at every turn. He doesn’t let it get to him. He blocks it out. But there’s a difference between Controlled suppression of Fear (intentional Ignorance) and Stupidity. The stupid person is truly not aware of Danger, Death, Fear, Pain. He/She is oblivious. This is the ‘Innocence’ of Animal-kind. Because they do not have Intelligence, compared to Humans, they are in states of Oblivion.
Only Man, and the most Intelligent among Man, can understand this meaning of Ignorance as a tool, as a form of suppression against Existential Dread, Anxiety, and Spiritual Stress. Morons, low-IQs, similar to animals, cannot understand, relate, or empathize. They, like animals, are in Oblivion. Not Aware, and definitely not Self-Aware.

Maybe, but the world does not run on the power of wealth alone. Money is not the end all of human meaning, even if it is very important. Those like Gramsci did add onto Marx’s work by pointing out how there are other forms of exploitation and “class consciousness” than just being a capital owner vs selling your labor.

Very true, education or lack of being another in the information age and behind economics the infrastructure of energy utilized to power our societies. Without a constant supply of energy modern civilization is nothing at all.
Capital certainly has a lot of influence in our society as Marx pointed out, but it isn’t everything.
