mommy and daddy

I have decided to worship mommy and daddy…
I am also going to worship the electricity god and the sun god…
I don’t want to be an atheist…atheism is disgusting…
I believe in polytheism

‘Here, thou incestuous, murderous, dam-n-ed Dane,
Drink off this potion. Is thy Union here?
Follow my mother.’

O:)

I hate when grown men and women call their parents mommy and daddy.
It makes me cringe. ROAR.
And i hate it even more when the parents and especially the mommys seem to thrive on it.

Cut the damn apron strings and shirt tails I say - cut the damn apron strings and shirt tails.
Let go and fly away…

arc—I think this whole god thing is just ancestor worship…we try to hold on to something…
so you are flying away…where to…are you sure you have cut the umbilical cord…

Well, if I haven’t totally cut it, and can I say I have, I am doing my best to stretch the living hell out of.
I can’t even see a god anymore - only what I am able to see.

I still have a little baby deep inside…way down… that pops up …that will never leave…
I think you may be kidding yourself about your umbilical cord…
I need to know more about your flight plans…

Well, I suppose as long as that little baby reptile doesn’t cause you pain or you him, I suppose it’s okay to keep him.
But, at the same time, you must nurture the little guy into growing and leaving on his own. You have your little log on which to bask in the sun and you must allow him his…watch as he grows and slowly and surely … … … … … goes away from you. He’ll probably turn around and give you one last look. Bless him as he smiles at you and waves good bye.

In which way do you think I’m kidding myself about the imbilical cord?

My flight plans…I’m not so sure I even have any. I fly and soar on instinct and intuition…
Aside from that, I simply follow the light of the stars and the moon. And if it’s complete darkness, well then, I fly by the seat of my pants. My wings have built- in patterns which tell me where to fly to.

you still have an umbilical cord because of your agnosticism…you are still holding on to something…
you still haven’t declared against sky-daddy…that is the major atheist claim…

No, i don’t think so, little reptile. My agnosticism is because I cannot know, I do not see a god so i have to withhold judgment as to the truth of it. If I am holding onto something, it is simply the possibility that there may be something. Who am I to say either way. But i am not holding on as you say through desire but simply to keep it real.
Even were I to at some point begin to see something, that something would still not be a sky daddy to me. Just some kind of an awesome impersonal creator.

adult children are still capable of seeing that they have parents, they don’t deny that but they have nevertheless stretched that unbilical cord as far away as they can, independent wise.

thanks arc…there is something I need to ask about…why do you say that agnosticism is cannot know rather than don’t know…cannot know seems too definite…

Why do you consider atheism disgusting?

it is just like theism…it is arrogant to think that you know all about everything…and usually what I hear from
the atheists is hatred…

Because the “reality” of it is that I cannot know. I can know that there are trees because I can see them. I “cannot” know if there is a god because it does not show itself directly to me. And i refuse to believe or to know something simply because of what i do see perhaps maybe pointing to it but it doesn’t make it so.

first the observation - cannot know, then the affirmation - do not know.
Or maybe they’re one and the same. Thoughts are not alwaysso easy to express with words.

Who?

well how about this…the origin of the universe…are you saying you cannot know that…never/ever…

By origin, how far back do you want to go?
I’m not so sure if we will ever ever come to know the true origin of the universe, when it began and where it began. Would the universe which we see be the first one? Or might it be a continuation of the first real one? lol We can only kind of go by what science and astronomy have told us…that this whole process started about 16 billion years ago. And what we do know or have observed though it may be much and so totally awesome, may just be the tip of the iceberg. Perhaps the real answer can be seen in the fact that it continues to expand. Perhaps the more it expands, the closer it will come to its true origin, which may be far far far further out than the 16 billion years which we see. A very dark, dark, dark landscape to be explored. lol I’m no scientist, little reptile -

arc how about trying cannot know about the origin of life on earth…can we find out about that

I’m not quite grasping what you’re trying to say here.

do you feel that you cannot know about the origin of life…
or do you feel you don’t know about the origin of life…

I am agnostic about the origin of life on earth meaning I don’t know…
but I wouldn’t say that I cannot know…
I do not express myself very well…I am one of those dummies you hear about…

dummies…turtle and arc specifically (no offense)----good conversation…i read a bit literally at first, then i got to the more layered meaning.
interesting…just a quick comment…i think there is such a thing as child worship, or future worship less literally…equally suspicious.
how old are you both?----my guess is 50 for turtle and 55 for arc…don’t give your kids a god’s shoes to fill…life tips for us dummies…
