ME and the girlfriend hit a moose tonight. We’re ok, but the car sure isn’t. Came at a real bad time, financially and otherwise.
oh damn! that sucks…
hope you were insured…

well tell the story man…
Not too much to tell. We were driving home from work, it was dark- as is the norm at 10 pm. There was a moose on the oncoming lane of traffic. She stepped on the brakes to stop, the moose ran away, and a second moose ran right out in front of us to follow the first. It shattered the windshield, bent the frame all around the windshield, and Danielle ended up with shit and entrails in her lap (the moose’s, that is). Despite that, I made her stay in the car (covered with poo and guts) until I was sure there wasn’t a pissed off moose right outside (took about 10 seconds). Right outside, there was, perhaps, another 100 pounds of entrails- no joke- and somehow the moose ran off about another 50 yards before it died. I shifted the car into neutral, and tried to push it out of the road, and got a handful of broken glass when I grabbed the dashboard. Other than that, no injuries to speak of.
And no, apparently the insurance was 2 weeks expired, I found out this evening.
well i feel bad for you. not that it’ll make you feel better, but you’re lucky you’re not dead. to kill a moose with your car and not die is a miracle. i once got up close to one when i was planting, real close. those things are like a thousand pounds of friendliness (when its not mating season). anyways.
Yeah, you’re about the 10th person to remark how lucky we are not to be at least maimed or crippled. And it’s true, too- Luckily is was a cow, maybe only a couple years old. If it was a bull, we would have been up the creek, no doubt. Too bad Danielle’s parents weren’t in town, or they would have gotten the meat.
oh man, that sucks on so many levels…
sorry you had to go through that…

Damn. Tangling with Moose’s (or is that meese?) is never going to come out good, just how bad. Like the others, That is a tough one, but be thankful for nicks and bruises. Ask anyone who has ‘played’ with Alaskan or Canadian Moose. I’ve seen Moose challenge cars in the middle of the road. The cars almost always lose. That’s hell on the insurance. No one needs a moose or expired insurance. Sorry to hear…

women should not be allowed to drive, nor handle insurance
(well money at all, come to think about it)
