Morality of Unconscious Communication (facial movements etc)

I would like to better understand the moral standing of letting unconscious processes reveal information about myself against my own will. IE through the use of well known unconscious facial movements (lie to me etc)

Seeing as these unconscious processes can only occur via the forces within the mind of man (electrical & chemical signals), or rather, seeing as unconscious processes within the mind of man are dominated by nature with its forces. could one deem those forces immoral for not regarding privacy of conscience?

Interesting angle. They are often viewed as immoral, by the person him or herself, if they contradict whatever moral rules and ego ideals the person has. This doesn’t make them immoral, in fact the unconscious communication may be judged better than t he official stance of the person and what they put into words. For me integration is very important. So judging non-conscous parts of myself as bad is counterproductive, since this will maintain t he split.

someone seeing that i am sad tries to cheer me up, and successfully makes me smile

this is an example of a violation of this privacy

is this act immoral?

i will dare to say no

No because physical processes lack agency. They can’t have a duty to anything or an intention or foresee a consequence.

But you say, “letting them”, then you say, “unconscious”. So which is it?

Thanks for the post! For me, i am into knowing how I can better use my subconscious mind (some say 100 times or more bigger than our conscious mind) to achieve my goals. I don’t think it is as simple as repeating affirmation, visualization, thinking positive, meditate and other well known self realizing techniques. We all have more less exact same hardware (Brain, nervous system, muscle etc), yet some people excel so much more far beyond anyone can imagine. [ie] check out this “12 year old kid” playing the piano (Exactly like) like Horowitz.

WHY that’s possible??? That’s what I wanna know!!!

In effect what your point might be is that human understanding is limited and therefor the moral truth of the unconscious might be just, only in a more complex state of moral understanding. Also, I feel you state that it is self frustrating and degrading to assume that the unconscious is immoral because it is an unknown part of you that dictates a lot of your actions and decisions and that it might better to just keep rowing down the river and forget trying to justify the actions of inconceivable nature.

Yes, supposing that you did not want cheering up and that someone leads you into a manic rage because you feel they are patronizing you.

My point is… good or positive reasons don’t justify supposed immoral behaviors, in other words diminishing someones privacy even for the act of good does not justify it. Suppose you could peer under someones clothes and at the same time cure there skin infection, does it justify that you invaded there privacy to do such a thing? Yes, only if the person does not consent to it and I don’t remember consenting to any unconscious intelligence in my reality.
