Not only did Christ NEVER write a philosophical text, there is never a direct reference in King Jame’s Bible that Christ EVER read any philosophical text.
There are references as to Christ seeing images; spirits; visions; and even seeing into men’ souls.
There is a place for reading philosophical texts, and a lot can be gleamed from reading.
There was a time in my life where there was nothing I LOVED more than reading philosophy. It changed my life. Reading philosophy actually made me realize I was a philosopher.
I was lucky enough to meet a group of people who had similar interests.
Just sayin…Keep your minds open.
Reading and regurgitating what one has read IS NOT the beginning and end of philosophy.
It’s the strangest thing…philosophy can make one’s life real.
It can open the door.
I hope you can.
My thesis for this thread: Our intellect is the part of us that we can use to begin our philosophical journey.
Most famous philosopher have gone beyond their intellect to ingrain their philosophy into their entire being.
alright to break down philosophy you have to bare an open capacity for learning, from knowing how to solve simple problems to knowing what’s sensible and unreal. What I’m getting at is if you took the time to begin working at a concise thesis… of all the job you’ve done finding out about a certain subjects, versus, and chapters of the bible, than you would never end. There’s a door alright and it’s always been open for a person to begin somewheres at learning and figuring out for oneself what’s intelligence and what’s ignorance. There’s every bit of proof for the writings of the bible and where it originated and who made it. (which wasn’t god) Who knows where it comes from and where it goes but to believe God took time to make a bible of the world isn’t smart at all. After all the information there is… to the extent of the “good book” which provided us with jesus and other messiahs. It’s apparent that their philosophical views don’t go unseen but to find them it just takes seeking and time. I don’t agree I believe there’s philosophical text in the holy bible but we’re not looking at it philosophically. We’re interpreting it too literally and looking at it as a part of our lives in hopes it brings us enlightenment (which it probably would).
It has long been held that not a stitch was written about a Jesus of Nazareth for at least 30 years after his death.
Jesus was crucified during the time of Pontius Pilate, who governed Judea between 26 CE and 36 CE. Tradition generally holds that Jesus died either 30 CE or 33 CE.
The first gospel to be written, the Gospel According to St. Mark, is believed by most scholars to have been written around 70 CE. Matthew followed, probably in the eighties, then Luke and John.
The Epistles of St. Paul are generally believed to have been written in the fifties, but may have been somewhat earlier. Hebrews and possibly some of the other epistles may also have preceded the New Testament gospels.
Of course, the Old Testament was written long before the time of Jesus.
Your news that Christ wrote the Bible is truly a revelation.
I’ll wait right here to listen as how you came to your conclusions…
