Ultimate Philosophy 1001
So do I, Trixie.
The search for truth and wisdom is like this great labyrinth. Many twists and turns, many obstacles barring the way, many moments when it is necessary to go backwards in order to move forward, many things hidden away in the bushes which we do not see because we don’t take the time to look THERE on our way to where we think we’re headed…the end of the journey.
I think it was Jakob somewhere who said that philosophy was like the remainder. I don’t think of it that way - I think that it is everything which brings us to the remainder. And then when we’ve figured out that remainder, we start all over again, building from that.
I accidentally waded through mud once, my foot got stuck, and it brought me to an epiphany or a realization of something which I had been grappling with. Don’t discount mud.
You can find inspiration all over. In a book, in a person, in a poem, in a song, in a leaf blowing in the wind, in a flame flickering and dancing, in a squirrel chumping on a nut, in an unexpected and sudden word spoken by someone which leads to a thought, in the raindrop which clings to a tree branch before detaching itself…
There is not just one lieutenant. There are many to be found.
Sit down in a chair, walk outside in nature - reflecting on yourself, who you think you may be, your place in the world, how you feel about yourself, how you got to the place where you are now, in what direction you would like to travel, what you wish to becoming…then shut your mouth, shut off your thoughts and LISTEN.
We say that we want to hear but do we take the time to LISTEN?
Aside from that, you’re a product of evolution. Keep on evolving, become an awesome metamorphoses. Don’t let anyone tell you how you should be. Stay out of the closet. The clothes in there do not fit you anymore. Buy new ones, try them on. If they do not fit, take them back. Buy others until you find your perfect fit… perfect for you. lol.
It’s a tool. What will you build with it?
