In what way is a 56 minute youtube video to be considered philosophy of religion or spirituality?
It’s a documentary educating people about Islam in Luton, England.
It’s very informative about Islam, to those who are uneducated and unknowing.
Opinions, reactions, and further information is welcome!
I don’t know. I have mixed feelings. I wonder if all this Islam bashing isn’t another black racial thing. Like we’re (humanity) in need of someone to hate.
Yes I know there are crazies in Islam. But there are crazies in all groups of people. For the most part people are okay. And I think – all fair evidence about them reveals – that it is true for Muslims as well.
Everybody should watch the video before commenting.
Okay, I did your homework assignment. And my statements still stands.
Didn’t you feel any sympathy for the young woman in this film? She seems like a very nice gal. She doesn’t deserve this.
Stacey Dooley is not the most brilliant intellectual, but she has a very refreshing approach to her investigations that have the ability to cut through the crap.
All we hear from the establishment is “Islam is a religion of Peace”, all well and good. But there are good reasons why average everyday people turn to EDL, and that is because there is a growing element of violent Islam that does not infect the streets of the rich and powerful, but is a growing threat to ordinary English people and the tolerant way of life.
There are also very good reasons why young disaffected boys from racial minorities that align themselves, with radical Islam, and find much in the Koran to support their hate and violence.
Little of this is addressed by the current crop of bourgeois public school boys on both sides of the House that rules over all of us.
It seems to me that the radicalisation is a post 9/11 phenomenon; a reaction to the ridiculous invasions of Muslim countries by the US/UK alliance, and their continuing support for Israel and it’s oppression of Palestinians.
The fact that radical Islamism probably does much more to oppress “fellow” Muslims across the world that any other factor, will, of course, be completely lost on the religious fanatical beheading morons of the ranks of the Islamicists; just as the fact that the British Empire is finished and the job of policing the world is not the UK’s responsibility is completely lost on the idiotic Bourgeois public School Boy twats of Parliament.
People are stupid - what else can one say?
They are all inadequate and want to ‘belong’ and be seen to be affective. It’s other people that die for it. I suppose one must give credit to suicide bombers who have the balls to kill themselves, whereas the public school twats are in no personal risk, whilst they dish out death by proxy.

Stacey Dooley’s video does provide a glimpse at the socio-political-religious context in which to view the murder of drummer Lee Rigby. The violent extremists on both sides are tiny minorities who demand disproportionate attention. These links update the status of the event a bit.
I think we make a mistake to simply reduce them as ‘misguided’, or ‘stupid’.
These people have genuine grievances that the mainstream ignore at their peril.
Rebellion is immanent in the system.
