My Only Love Poem

I would never tell you whatever, or “oh well” you.
See me seeming to sound true,
Cause I’m trying to wow you.

I would never snow you, icy Eskimo you,
Try to keepin’ my sky blue,
Keep me trying to wow you down.

Everyone I know, every one-eyed soul,
everyone outnumbered, everyone out cold.
Everyone I told, told me to go home,
Told to go under, to go undersold.

I would never tell you “quiet down” or quell you.
See me seeming to sound true
Feel me finding I found you

I would never put you away
Put you down, watch football all day
Try to keepin’ the high new,
Keepin’ trying to wow you down.

Everywhere I go, every weary goal,
every weird ascending, sending me a low.
Everyone I told, told me to go home,
Told to go under, to go undersold.

I would never make you, sever you or fake you,
I won’t even allow you to,
Cause I’m trying to wow you down.

your use of “I” and “You” reminds me of Martin Buber’s book: I and Thou. which is really I and You. They are more than just personal pronouns…they carry the significane of a relation type (the words do, that is).
