If anyone is interested, yesterday I narorated about 5 hours of play with my friend jonathan. The game is a text based RP game. A person plays it in chat by telling the narorator what they want to do, then the narorator tries to protray a world, and come up with random events and encounters, as well as control NPCs. I have spent many hours on this. So far I have 2 higher powered guns, which are very hard to get, and my character also has a special mineral armor that I mined. I found 6 natives in a small nomadic group, which help me fight, haul resources, and do mining. Jonathan stayed at a farm and helped dig out a tunnel network with multiple kinds of resources, such as tar, mineral rich dirt, and hardstone. The world is sort of barren, fairly peaceful. It’s not very challenging for me, but also the rate I gain power is a lot slower than in some of my other games. The technology on the game is different than on earth, and it is generally lower tech than moderns. It is difficult to build higher technologies. Anyone is welcome to play, but hardly anyone is into that style of play/hobby. My brother used to be my main gamer, but we don’t get to talk much these days. I’m sort of out of ideas, so I am just sitting inside of my fort and doing minor deals with passing customers.
Why guns? Why not real challenges of primitive survival? Making tools and hunting weapons and defense weapons. Walk into a world naked and start from scratch. For what its worth giving people real ideas on how to survive in a real primitive world would be educational and very challenging if done right.
My games usually symbolize semi-ideal worlds. Worlds of high tech powerful immortal beings.
Thanks for responding to the thread though, it’s empty.
I understand. I was just suggesting a game theme that is not about competing against others with high tech. Tech games similar to your themes have been a staple in the gaming world. A well done theme like I suggest has not been done. I thought you might enjoy the challenge.
