The swirling waters of the river styx roared with the unrest of a thousand souls, each reflecting an eye of a thousand more. Phlegyas lazily leaned over the corner of his ferry, squinting his eyes into the ethereal sunset that had been steadily occuring for quite some time now.
“Hey Fairyman, got enough eyeliner on today?” one of the waves shouted to Phlegyas as it crashed against the side of the boat.
“I’m not listening…”
“Oh yes you are, you got that date tonight and you couldn’t ignore us if you tried.”
Phlegyas spit into the river nonchalantly, falling silent in an attempt to quiet the waters. He just wanted this shift to be over.
"Tastes like… Doritos and Fresca… " one of the waves smirked to another.
“Yeah well, at least I can chew, or eat for that matter.” Phlegyas retorted. “Why don’t you -almost- make someone invulnerable again?” the ferryman added as he started towards the front of the boat, which had now docked on the boundaries of the earth shores.
One lowly soul sauntered aboard, his exposed eyes looking the captain up and down.
The ferryman frowned at this. “Where are your coins?”
The soul turned to the camera. “My coins? Where’s the fucking vending machine?!?!”
“OHhhhh Burn!” the river howled; a foam of applause spraying up the side of boat upon impact.
