New Fossils Fill the Evolutionary Gap Between Fish and Land

Right here:

nsf.gov/news/news_summ.jsp?c … 07&org=NSF

And LOOK !! its http://www.nsf.gov ITS .GOV !!! you got any ideea what .GOV means ?

Anyway… enjoy your missing links

It means that it’s a government funded and controlled organisation. Are you suggesting that governments are entirely rational and objective and never in the slightest bit deceitful?

No i’m suggesting that .gov adds validity.
And also that Christian tax payers PAY for these scientists… isn’t that ironic ?

On what grounds?

No - peaceniks’ taxes pay for the military, my taxes pay for Blair’s wife’s haircuts, capitalists’ taxes pay for national healthcare - almost everyone who pays taxes pays for stuff they don’t believe in. The quality of your arguments is like that of a 17 year old, stoned and sniggering with his friends about how cool he is and how uncool everyone else is.

Thats because i haven’t had a serious discussion on philosophy in weeks since i’ve been posting here… and thats just my attitude towards most of the anti-science topics posted here on the Natural Sciences forum.

You’ve made no attempt at a serious discussion. You’ve hardly posted in the philosophy forum, save to claim that religion has offered nothing to the world, a claim I instantly refuted, then to slag off a religion you didn’t know anything about until moments earlier. This is not the behaviour of a person looking for sincere discussion. This is the behaviour of someone with a one-track approach to all discussions, namely, how to swing it round to being an attack on religion and/or religious people.

Plenty of philosophers (serious ones, I can list a half-dozen keys one if you’d like) have been ‘anti-science’ in one way or another. If you want to talk to people about science, the whole science and nothing but the science then I suggest that you go and find a science forum. If you want to slag off religious people then go and find a forum devoted to that. If you want to discuss philosophy seriously and sincerely then go to the philosophy forum, find a topic that interests you and post something. It’s pretty simple…

please don’t let politicians/governments decide on science… it happens too much already

Well on that level i guess i did exagerate with posting anti-religious crap… but how can one not ? :expressionless: when its clear to me that there are too many people here who know nothing of philosophy.

I’d gladly discuss philosophy, logics and law as i study them and i know a fair bit;

on top of that i read science journals and i trust them… WHY ? because i do not have the time to study biology for a lifetime to try and refute what those people are saying. Which religious people do without any understanding of modern science.

Thats the real issue i’m addressing… let scientists research science.
You also need to understand that philosophy and science are interrelated…
Science infuences philosophy because nobody respects a philosopher that speculates that empirical data is wrong anymore… so all philosophy books and essays from now on will and should be in close relation with psychology, biology etc… otherwise they risk being complete crap.

Missing Link huh? Who is to say that the newly discovered reptile creature never existed as a seperate and distinct species? Why did it have to “evolve.”
Well you’ve got AAAAAAAAA missing link. Now you just need several thousand more to cover the MAJOR jumps in species attributes this “missing link” supposedly links. I remain a skeptic. Just find me several thousand more missing links, and I promise I will renounce my literal six day creation view. I promise.

The sole fact that fossils are found should convince you the worl is not just 6000 years old… sorry mate… you missed the boat.

All fossil dating techniques have theoretical flaws that prevent them from absolutely defining the age of the earth. The “relative” age of fossils is well approximated by the data, but the actual numbers themselves are flawed.

And you say this because you know the actual age?

Did any of you guys actually click the link before you began pounding keys?

That’s a computer generated image.

I wanna see the real fossil too.
