I heard about a 9/11 movie coming out, None of the folks I have talked with plan on seeing it, most are against it for different reasons.
Aggravating existing problems and conflicts
it may be disrespect to the survivors and dead
It is wrong for someone to turn 9/11 into entertainment.
even if it is set up documentary style it still is delivered as entertainment
What do you all think? On a similar note; Should any tragedy have been turned into movies for entertainment? I know that some have. Movies of the week are filled with such dramas. Why watch them, what value?
It’s history. Can’t ignore it. It’s part of the fabric of our being. Should James Cameron not have made Titanic? Should Pearl Harbor with Ben Affleck not have been made? Okay, bad example, but imagine instead a good movie about Pearl Harbor. The point is these things are all part of the human drama. These are the stories that comprise our lives.
History yes, but, 9/11 is not over it is not significantly in the past in history yet, it is still very much present. Peoples lives are being turned into entertainment and is that right or even have a value other then voyeurism. And why do people want to see these tragedies? I see nothing of value but I do see potential harm.
I don’t want to see it because I just have no interest in a 9/11 movie.
Although in the film’s defense they did make it with the consent of the famillies of the victims on the flight. From what I’ve heard they want the story to be told. And if people who lost someone can handle a movie like that then everyone else should too.
