Considering Ben’s announcement, I was wondering if anyone knew of any other good philosophy forums. I searched around, and most of my findings were prety bad compared to this site. So, anyone have any suggestions?

I haven’t found a comperable philosophy based site that doesn’t suck…if anyone knows of one do post it here 
Lololol I just posted the same question in mundane babble. I’m going to do a google search now, [edit] and yeah Dr Sat. all of the other philosophy forums I’ve seen suck compared to this site.

Heres the only other site I bookmarked back when I was searching for forums(and finally landed on ILP) it looks decent.
I am going to miss this site so much… Even if I spent most of my time just reading all the discussions, I love the mixture here of both amateurs and experts carrying on discussion, each here because they love to learn, to discuss, and to teach. I mean, having such a centralized place where anyone can come and question the nature of the universe… I’m going to miss it, even though I haven’t been here very long. I must say I don’t really understand ben’s motivations; except for the inherent flaws with any forum, this site is really pretty incridible. Anyway, first and foremost I hope ben reconsiders, though it is obviously entirely his decision. Perhaps we could try to address some of the problems. I know I’d be willing to help out in whatever way, whether that’s just promising to limit posts to topics I know a lot about or becoming active in moderating and filtering and organizing the forum in general.
Anyway, as ben did seem pretty resolute, I did a google search for other possible forums. I do really like the people on ILP, especially as I grow more and more familiar with each persons outlook the more I read. I feel like I’ve gotten to know this community, even if I only have 30 some posts… so it would be nice if we all stayed in the same general area; if we each had the same pool of sites that we frequent or something… anyway, so here’s a few philosophy forums that I came across. I haven’t really looked into any of them in depth yet, so I don’t know how good they are, but at least they’re something. We can make them good… they seemed alright at a glance:

there’s always madphilosophers too, as rounder said. Its alright. I’ve read a few of the discussions up there. Never participated in any (this is the only forum I come to on a regular basis). Its definitely not ILP, but its certainly better than nothing.

If this is an April fool’s joke, I’m gonna be pissed. Well, relieved, entertained, but, damnit, don’t scare us like that! oh, please let this be an April fool’s joke…
