Is there some sort of evaluation period on this board? Or is every post reviewed before being posted? I have submitted a few posts and they were subjected to review by and admin, and apparently not deemed worthy of posting… What are the reasons behind this? Is there some sort of elitist mentality in place here, where posts need to meet a minimun level of standards before they will be allowed to be seen publicly? Or do different posts go to different admins, and take longer to get approved… I hope the latter is true, but I just want to make sure what is really going on here. I have never run into this sort of scrutiny on any forum in the past.
Seeing as though this will be reviewed before being posted, if a private message would be a better way to discuss this, feel free to do so… Oh wait, I don’t think I have enough posts to be allowed PM privileges yet.
It has nothing to do with evaluation, really. Well, just evaluating whether a user is a spambot or not.
How it works is a Moderator has to approve your first five posts and then you can post freely without having your posts approved, I think you can PM then, as well.
Spambots are getting better and better at disguising themselves. What many of them will do is start a new generic topic, often an introduction, so we don’t catch it at first and then go back and add their spam later. Some of them will spam via PM.
There’s no elitist mentality here, just trying to make it easier to nuke spambots. Don’t even have to nuke them, really, just have to refrain from approving their posts.
Ok, thanks. So because I have not seen a couple of the posts I submitted does not mean that they have been denied for lak of substance or anything like that? Will the be posted once I have had five posts accepted? I ask a ton of questions…
You should be able to see them now, I would think. Upon seeing this topic, I went through and made sure to approve all of your posts.
Your posts have substance, but they don’t even necessarily have to have that to be approved, they just have to not be spam, like I said, there’s no elitism going on here. Someone could come in and have a thousand posts all in Mundane Babble if they so desired.

You’re welcome, but don’t take my word for the PM. I was actually suggesting that you check it if you think you might want to use it because I don’t recall off of the top of my head if there’s a different post limit for that.
Checked… I was able to actually get the the point of being able to compose a PM, witch is further that I was allowed befor making it to five posts… I think I’m good.
On a side not there were a couple of posts that idnt end up showing, but no bother… I sort of wanted to expand on them, so I’ll just repost them at a later time.
