So, when the Vatican say stuff you don’t agree with, they are religious morons who don’t understand anything and so on and so forth, but when they say something you do agree with, you highlight it.

Tell me Carpathian - what scientific evidence would you accept as proving evolution false? Not ‘atheist scientists disbelieving it’ because I already offered you one of them who won a Nobel Prize, so we’ve established that there are respected atheist scientists (or, at least one) who don’t take the theory for granted. I’m talking actual scientific evidence. An example I thought of is if we came up with some superreliable dating system (the limitations of carbon dating are well recorded) and ‘proved’ that all the fossils we have all appeared in the same century, and that century was half a million years ago, then we’d have pretty convincing evidence against evolution, would we not?

I’m just trying to work out where the limitations of your beliefs lie. We’ll probably never agree on much, but we might find some common ground.

edit - fuckin’ hell, Killer Kangaroos!

The Vatican believed evolution to be true, and declared it to in-no-way conflict with Roman Catholic doctrine absolutely years ago. Not so much news from the front as news reaching to the command post 200 miles behind the line.

nevermind

It’s telling that you have absolutely no interest in discussing the scientific issues. Ah well, I tried.

siatd, I’m interested in what you say. Who is the nobel prize winning scientist you mention? Have you any accessible, none-too-science-heavy links on the subject? Thanks.
